Spouse visa

has anyone out there applied for a Spouse visa to stay in the UK? I am getting ready to apply and want to know if anyone with who has been through this can let me know if they did it themselves or used an agency and whta they recommend.

Down load the forms from the Home Office.gov website, Fill them in and support your application with as much information as possible, include photographs of the wedding, include both parties recent bank statements. If you are British it is harder to bring in your spouse than if you were European as the European Courts do not approve of married people being forced to live apart. If you are an EU citizen it will take just a few months. Best of luck

Hi,

from previous experience if you are unsure of EXACTLY how to do it, the forms are fairly staright forward, I missed something and got into a spot of bother, and ended up paying a guy (found on this site) who wasn't OISC registered who screwed it up as well.

I ended up at visalogic.net they were great still cost me but I they were really easy to talk to (wicked offices as well) and Shazmeen knows her stuff.
Have alook at www.tier1-workpermit.com for general tips on how to spot a cowboy.

I am not in the immigrtion game, just sick of people getting stung by ppeople who lie and mess up other lives

Hi There!I just did mine few months ago.The easiest way is to call Home Office and tell them that you want to apply for spouse visa and ask them for application form.They will send it to you.If I'm not mistaken it will take a day or two.Better do it yourself rather than listening what people have to say as you need to get the right application form for spouse.Don't worry too much as everything you need, you can read it on the form when it comes.When you haven't been to this position before it sounds so difficult but it will be easy enough as long as you have all the documents.Goodluck to you.

Thanks for the info. Can anyone recommened an agency that they used?

I went through an agency for my work permit and even with an agency it was stressful so I dont like the idea of dealing with the Home Office on my own!

Hi!Believe me applying for spouse visa is easy enough.I did it myself few months ago.You just have to be confident and positive about it.Call Home office and ask for spouse visa application form and they will send it to you. Fill the application form and support it with all the documents they asked and send it back to Croydon and just wait for a letter from them confirming that your application is under processing.All the documents will be sent back to you when it's done.Make sure though that you are not engage to travel before you do it because you need to send your Passport along with all the documents that supports your application.

Also, how much money did you have saved, how much were you earning? Does it really matter. I am very confused by the whole thing!

isseymiyake hey, you seem to know a lot about this, do u know if i have to apply for a souse / marrige visa in south africa or can i do it from london. I came from SA and am currently in london on a 2 year work holiday visa....... i can give u details if u want on everything, u have email adderss?? lol its been such a stressful misssion, really makes it unromantic...

Hi there, i hope someone can help. I am bulgarian with ILR in the UK, i recently married and my husband is from Belarus. Now, the matter is a bit complicated He has been married before to a bulgarian girl and had FLR as her dependant. His FLR expires in january 2008. I would like to find out what application form we need to use, so i can attach him to my visa as a married partner, and if he still needs 2 years probation period, if he has been previously married and had 3 years FLR or we can automaticly apply for ILR as my dependent. Please help

Hi,
I am South African and my partner has dual SA/British citizenship.
A few months ago we decided to move to the UK. Unfortunately I could not afford the Working holiday visa, so I just came over as a visitor.
Does anybody have any advice on how I should go about getting a visa? I have been advised that anybody who lends me the money for the working holiday visa must be an immediate family member. This is a problem for me.
My partner and I have been together for 3 years now, but we don't have a joint bank account or anything like that. The requirements for a spouse visa are apparently 3-4 pieces of evidence per partner per month for 24 months?! that's insane. Would it be easier to get married in South Africa?
Anybody in a similar situation who could offer advice?! I would really appreciate it, as my 6 month visitor stay is coming to an end and we're getting a bit desperate!

I've just put this reply to another post, it's only a copy and paste, but i'm in a good samaritan mood tonight, so i hope it will help.
I hope i don 't sound like an advert...I'm not

I am happy to be able to give advice for you as when you want to be with your loved one, they ( the Brit home office) put so many barriers in place.
OK i'll try to be as clear as possible for you and hope it helps.

1.If you are trying for a leave to remain ( spouse visa) your partner MUST apply in His or Her country of origin...IMPORTANT.....Don't let any shark immigration lawyer convince you that you can apply here, you just can't full stop. You will end up loosing your fees to the Homeoffice and of course the lawyer.
2.Get together all documents you need ( Listed on the home office immigration website )
Any documents you don't have, or have lost, or do not come up to home office requirements (proof of earnings, address etc etc) can be 'replaced'

There are many sites offering these services, but again don't get burnt ( as i did) most of them are crap photoshop scans retouched, to easy to spot.
Of course you can't get your money back.
Take my advice, check out www.replacementdocuments.net, it's worth it and they are 100% spot on.
The guy i met explained to me everything (for the price of a coffee) and gave me a full pack, home office were obviously happy as i got my leave to remain.
