They emit less emissions.

They take up less space.

They don't conjest traffic.

You would think they are a good invention to be used on the inner london roads.

Now Westminster want to charge for their parking spaces. I alway thought they were happy to see more people using contructive ways of getting about in London.

It seems that we were wrong....Again.

NOTE: I found today down the Fulham Road in a petrol station that they charge 50p to put air in my tyre.

I must say its a good thing we don't pay for breathing.

I know its not in London but in the South of Spain they are a danger to the rest of the planet!! Ok less emmisions etc but when even the sensible ones ride along on the pavement and ignore traffic rules its going to end up in more deaths and injuries than without them!! my $0.02

That's pedal cyclists in London - dangerous, rude, bullying, sactimonius free-loaders. Make them carry identity plates and film and fine them for all infringements. It's also for their safety - and a few pedestrians might be happier too.

When motorcycles park on-street they cause congestion. While they're moving, not so much. They don't pay the congestion charge, so a parking fee seems equitable.

You can put air in your tyres for free if you use a foot pump. Think of the 50p charge as a sort of carbon offset for the electricity used in making and running the gas station's pump. I would've thought you'd be in favour.

How can they cause congestion when they park-up their motorcycles in motorcycle parking bays????

They don’t cause congestion.

If you were sensible enough, Logic takes over.

50p to pump up a tyre seems extortionate. You blurt out about the electricity being used by the pump itself, but you haven’t the logic to say a foot pump chained to the petrol station wall would be the ultimate answer.

How many more people out there are carrying your genes?

You must be the one to avoid.

Your problem is you don't read (or maybe don't understand).

1) I said on street parking. But even parking bays have to be built and maintained. Why shouldn't the people who use them pay for that?

2) Carry your own pump if you're too mean to pay. Why should a petrol retailer support this something-for-nothing society even more? It would probably be vandalised in 24 hours anyway.

3) Should we take seriously the views of someone who's only discussion techniques are to ignore or misunderstand countering points and then to sling around juvenile insults?

What is there to understand about following:

1. If they would allow me, I would paint “Motorcycle bay with my own paint. But at the moment it’s against the bloody law. How much construction does that take?????????

2. 2. You are saying paying for air is a “good thing” ?........................... (Is there something I’ve missed?) It’s only AIR…not bloody gold bars. What is wrong with a foot pump????

3. With your way of thinking we should not stop at motorbikes, we may aswel go on to charge for push-bikes. Why are people like you having to make the little things in life so bloody complicated and mean and greedy and money making and….oops, I’ve thrown-up.

Here’s another few Justine Thyme,

Why don’t we put parking bays and meters for disable mobility carriers????????

How about parking bays and meters for dogs outside shops??????

How about a “Rapid Response Crack Squad” to police it all???????

..And you say you’re no relative of Jade Goody’s. Who the f*ck is going to believe that?

A. There is already on-street disabled parking and it's time monitored and can attract penalties for overstaying

B. Better yet, ban non-working dogs from all public places unless they're muzzled and fitted with crap catchers

C. Rapid response for anything official in London is a dream

D. My family has no blood connection with the UK, so I can't be related

On the rest:
+ if the parking bay's on the road it takes up road space so bikes should be charged for pro rata as a car,
+ I suggested a foot pump, and
+ vote the buggers out if you don't like their tax policies.

I have a better idea,

Vote them out and vote YOU in.

More taxes for everyone.

More taxes mean more corruption. A money meter for everything that you see fit. Bloody typical you are.

.. A world without vision or direction again.

It’s no wonder this country’s in the state that it is in. The real sad thing is there are people like you already in power which you cannot help but see good in them and believe everything they chuck at you.

You’re not a fascist, you’re just a victim. Complying in everyway to your only thought process available to your brain.

Roll over and go back to sleep, because that’s how they want you. It’s easier for them.

People like you don’t even realise that it’s suppose to be a Democracy where you can demonstrate. Complying is actually giving way to a potential becoming fascist state without knowing it.

Go now and wait for your dictator’s next speech and orders. And don’t be surprised if he charges you to listen to him.

As I'm not from this country (just long-term temporary) I don't vote, so I guess I'm not eligible to stand for office. However, if ever I did get in, I'd abolish road tax, congestion charges and parking fees for all vehicles running on used vegetable frying oil.

There's diesel motorcycles too, so you could also benefit Wink

Justine, Justine, Justine, I’m going to sit here and hope and pray that one day you come to power. Because it sounds like I’m missing out on this wonderful stuff called vegetable cooking oil fuel.

My dream is to ride my bike and cook a great British fry-up all at the same time.

Fu*k-me, I pop out for ten measly minutes and come out to see tumble weed all over the place.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED?

I'm becoming very concerned with the folk around here.

Just to let you all know for some time there is a group, lobby or what ever you want to call them that are trying their very hardest to get motorbikes included in the congestion charging zone.

Clearly its not about the money.

its not a problem - there is an obvious problem to riding a bike, that is that car drivers (and drivers of larger vehicles) kill them occasionally.
two solutions - buy a HUGE bike with an engine bigger than most compact cars - say fit a 1.8 VVTEC Honda engine to something with 2 wheels (bloody hell this IS a good idea), or fit a 9v (usually used to power a toy) motor to your huge SUV. Either way Red Ken will be falling over himself to fellate you.
No problem

he he, that's me to a tee.

my personal favourite occurred in the West End. I slapped the back of a black cab as he had cut me up in a rediculus situation. He started F'in un blinding and wound the window down to remonstrate with me. It just so happened that I had the good fortune of having a huge greeny in my throat at my disposal. I cycled up along side lent in and got him right slap bang in the middle of the face before turning off and cycling away. He he, fat git stupid black cab drivers. I f'kin' hate um.
