I'm desperately seeking work in body piercing. I am presently untrained, though I do have extensive knowlege of the trade and have my a few of my own tools which I have used to perform basic piercings on friends. I'd be willing to do receptionist work or something of the like to begin with, but even that seems unavailable! I have called/visited over 50 studios in London and got tured away by every one. Anyone have any advice please?

YOu could try doing a course to learn the trade a bit better, I would get in contact with the British School of Body Piercing, as far as I know they are the only "professional" organisation.

I'm a little apprehensive about that course - it's 700 pounds for only a week, and most piercers I have asked say you can't even begin to scratch the surface in that time, and can only consider yourself fully qualified after at least a year of training and observing.

Yeh you are right there and 700 is loads!! Maybe you could set up your own kinda business, and do piercings for cost price as long as people understand you are a trainee?

I' only attempted ears and eyebrows so far, several I wouldn't dare attempt without adequate training, fr example if a tongue is inccorectly pierced it can cause the client to bleed to death, and I dubt I would be able to get the building licensed without proof of training knowlege. Arrgh. I think I'll just have to keep pestering all the London studios.
