The number of mobile scams out there (or at least here on the gumtree) is staggering. Anyone looking for a new N95 (only released last month) would do well to look somewhere else. Every single idiot i have contacted on this site is, so far, a scam artist. Mods/Site operators, can't you look into the supply of personal details or some kind of moderation of advertisements posted to cut down on this sort of junk? There are DOZENS of these imbeciles posting on your website.  I agree that most people would not fall for this rubbish, but there are a good few out there that the optimistic first-time gumtree user would most definitely be snared by. |

| If you are after an N95, check out www.GBphones.com. They are a phone comparison website, i.e. they don't stock the phones themselves but provide links to the best deals from all suppliers. I got a K800i on Virgin from them but they have deals on all networks. Good luck... |

We always advise people to be careful when buying things from our site and have warnings posted in our help section.

Alternatively you can report an ad by clicking the 'report this posting for review by Gumtree admin' which appears at the bottom of each page.

good site that one. i'm after a nokia 6300 and one of the redemption deals on there is very good.
and i agree that something needs to done about all the shite that is being posted on gumtree now. they might as well rename it scamtree. |

Thats not very fair, as I sold one n95 to a person yesterday. I have sold mobile on the site since last year. I always meet the person or ensure that they collect and always provide my invoice.
On the same foot the amount of scammers out there who reply and are clearly trying to rip you off is silly. Is there way of doing ratings, i.e you have to log in and register before you can post, then you could give some one a rating. Then you know that person is legit. |
