I've been in London 2 months and have had some shocking experiences with agencies. After having an excellent contact person in New Zealand it is a shock to find that some of the recruitment officers here aren't even teachers. One agency hadn't paid me for a whole month and no one had let me know and then they refused to take accountability for the error. I think the smaller companies are the way to go. I had heard this before I came over but now I see that it is usually true. Lets hope I have a better experience from now on. Anyone else had similar experiences or have I just had a bad run?

Capita are the best teaching agency I've used over here. I got my first position with ASA and they were as supportive as a fairy floss bra. Actually turned up on the first day of work to discover that the school didn't know I was coming. I also used Protocol for daily supply for a bit, they were all over me like a Turkish carpet salesman, until I'd actually signed up. Then it was like Heeelloooo anybody there! also got some work through a dude who ran a very small agency called Excalibur. Pay was slightly less and the schools were from the depths of hell. Captia found me good schools and I have been working at the last one they found me for about 3 years now. Am permanent staff which means I get paid for the holidays, hurray! Even got QTS.
