I work for social services and a crb check is undertaken every 3 years and they are very strict concerning this, So i cannot not understand why a courier driver would require this every 2 months.

I paid my £50 for a CRB check, got a letter saying I was added to their database of drivers and that was the last I heard.
It's been 6 weeks, both their telephone numbers just ring and ring and they dont answer thier emails.
I rang CRS and spoke to a very convincing lady who said she was unable to discuss anything about their clients.
So what do we do now?
Surely we can get someone to investigate these companies?

It's such a shame people get caught like this especially when there is no check needed for normal driving jobs only if you work in security etc should you need a check, it's such a bloody shame.....

I also enquired about this a while back however I got an offer letter which appeared to be gramatically inept so sent an email back asking whether i'd get a copy of a self employment contract.

As yet I have yet to receive a response, so decided to phone the number.

Every single option within the 4 Choices directly point to an email address, info@jobs-for-drivers.co.uk which to me indicates that there is something untoward going on if they don't want to speak to anyone.

For info I have also found out that the 0870 number belongs to 4D Telecom, www.4dinteractive.co.uk.

Maybe it's worth spamming their email address sales@4dinteractive.co.uk telling them they have a scam line.

I work in the telecoms industry and I'm sure if enough complaints get sent then ICSTIS the governing body will not only deduct any revenue due on the number but will also fine the supplier (4D) if the scam is proven.

You can also contact ICSTIS as I have done on 0800 500 212.

Cheers,

Big E Razz

I knew it was too good to be true and am always overly cautious but that's £49.65 I'll never see again! I have reported the 'company' to trading standards and my bank are also pursuing whoever debited my account.

Is there any chance of getting my money back somehow???

Hi all has anybody heard of this company they are recruiting drivers for courier work and apparently pay £23ph! Please let me know

Crying or Very sad Too good to be true, I checked the owners of both the jobs for drivers website and the recomended checking services web site and they are both registered to the same person, "David Horn". The scam seems to be based on people paying £49 for a required personel check. Jobs for Drivers then place you on their database which seems to be anotherway of stating "you'll never hear from them again".I also tried 118247 phone service giving the address listed on both websites and couldnt obtain a listed number. Also, the number given to procure a courier for a job was a con, the number being unrecognised. Stay well clear. Both websites are provided by www.easyspace.com.

Ah well looks like I have been scammed again, i thought that this Jobs for drivers was too good. I shall be contacting trading standards on Mon. I know these are not much good unless your tesco or microsoft, but if we all stick together and play hell they will be forced to take action.

Me too, wasted 4 weeks of my time, firstly with a postal application, the lady saying they were changing over to on-line applications only, they may have cashed my cheque as well as got money from me on-line. Seriously thinking of going to London to visit the offices but guarentee they are locked up. The phone is a runaround as well.
I have lost 4 weeks of time getting work, and 4 more weeks into my overdraft, never been scammed before and feel a complete clutz...
Steer well clear is my advice

How did you pay? I paid online by debit card and after contacting my bank have had to be re-issued with a new card and been told there is nothing else they can do.

Should I be worried about the fact that I sent this company a CRB check which we have just had done?

We haven't had it back, which is very annoying, but I'm also worried they might do something with it.

Sad I wonder what we can do to have these scam dogs investigated by the authorities. Why should these sammers prey on people who genuinely are seeking employment. It is rather distasteful and annoying they taking money away from those who dont have.

I applied, paid and had the CRB done. Got an e-mail in May 2007 confirming on the books. No jobs.

All e-mails and calls not answered.

CRB company has changed website, name and e-mail as well as telephone number which is an 08709222171 number.
1 ring and no answer as you are put on hold.
e-mail sent with no response.

Blatant fraud?

Dear All

I am a Debt Collector/Private investigator who has been armed with the task of trying to recover a debt owed by COMPLETE REFERENCING SERVICES/JOBS FOR DRIVERS.

I am aware that the person behind the company was a PATRICK QUINN, who is apparently in ALICANTE.

I am keen to find him and have some contacts in Spain who are willing to assist, however i would be grateful for any additional info any of you might be able to provide me with.
