Why keep hush about knowing his name?
I am not interested in paying for information, i am sure we can find it out ourselves, we just thought that people might want to assist in finding Mr Quinn and in turn we would be happy to supply whatever info we find out. |

Drive these net cheats off road
There's something particularly mean about ripping off people who are only trying to earn a few honest quid.
Unfortunately, there's no shortage of scumbags prepared to do it - like the people behind Jobs For Drivers, which offers freelance courier work paying nearly £25 per hour.
Its website, jobs-for-drivers.co.uk, claims to "urgently require selfemployed owner drivers for courier and delivery work".
Applicants are told to provide a "current verification check" and are recommended a firm called Complete Referencing Services.
As Claire Andrews from Jobs For Drivers said in an email to potential drivers: "This is a company we have used and have found very reliable and extremely quick."
Mick Cooper, from Derby, sent CRS a cheque for £49.65 in April and got an "activation" email from Claire at JFD soon afterwards. That's the last he's heard and he has never had any work from JFD.
The same goes for Caroline Buckley, from Bedford, who said: "I want my money back." We've heard from several victims - and internet forums are full of similar complaints.
It turns out that JFD and CRS are one and the same. Both sites were registered this year to a "David Horn" and emails from both firms were sent from the same server. Curiously, the CRS site bears striking similarities to a nowdefunct male escort site called crsemployment.co.uk, which was also registered to Horn.
Horn is likely to be either a false name or a patsy - as the brains behind the scam tried hard to cover their tracks. Neither JFD nor CRS are registered with Companies' House and their postal addresses are mail drops.
The CRS address in Brighton forwarded all mail, including cheques, to a Patrick Quinn at a business centre in North London. He rented office space there earlier this year but has since left. "I'd love to know where he is," the manager told us. "He owes me money and has done a bunk."
She says Quinn has an Irish accent and is in his mid-30s with brown hair.
Is Quinn up to old tricks? Two years ago, a nearidentical scam surfaced in Northampton. Victims paid for a reference but got no work. The site was registered to a Patrick Quinn.
The last anybody heard from him, Quinn was in Alicante, Spain.
A spokesman for Brighton and Hove Trading Standards said they had tried to shut down the websites.
"We've so far been thwarted by the lack of help from the Californian company that hosts them. We are doing everything in our power to bring these companies to book." |

This company is definitely dodgy, yet the website still exists, and so does the "Become a driver" link! I have sought advice from Hertfordshire Trading Standards, and they have suggested I should write to Westminster Police, since the last "proper" address for J4D was on their territory: 29-30 Margaret Street, London, W1W 8SA.
According to the Royal Mail website this address does exist, but who is there? |

If you google "29-30 Margaret Street" you will get hundreds of hits that indicate it is the trading address of dozens of companies and organisations.
So it's either going to be a large office block and/or a place where there is a mail forwarding/mail box (virtual office) set up and/or where there are a number of accountants who do the books for companies who use them as the registered address. Or just a fake address given as the web registrant address which is quite common when individuals do not wish to be traced. |

Beleive me, it is a scam. I paid for my background check and never heard from them again, ever after trying to phone as a pretend customer wanting to send a parcel. The address quoted is a dea d mail box and the company doesn't exist there either. |

Hi, avoid these sheisters. This company has been advertising for a long time. Basically they will get you to part with money for a supposed Criminal Background Check, which does'nt exist. There is no driving jobs, no nothing. All contact is made via email. The phone number given to you will never answer. STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS.
Hope this helps,
Matty.

after hours of searching for a driving job, and yes, I've probably registered with them, and no I won't be parting with any money, I came across this article:

| Sorry to be hartless..but if your paying to get a job..your thinking is all wrong. I told BT to bugger off because they asked me to pay money to get money of my bill...in the end it dawned on me..they want my custom they should offer me their services (in your case get you a job so they get a cut of your wages like all good recruitment agencies) at a reduced rate. I know the analogy is a bit warped but hey..I try!. |

The are looking for different category drivers at
http://www.nowhired.com/category/drivers-delivery/region/w-us/
If you're looking for drivers jobs try searching there. The website is quite new and not all know about it so it might be easier to apply there. Good luck to all drivers! |

You're a liar! Banks cannot and will not take money from an account simply because someone says they've been scammed. You're an idiot. |

I don't understand why a driving company are asking for CRB checks anyway. You only need one of these if your going to be in contact with children or vulnerable adults.
Enhanced CRB is £36 and standard are around £29 so 50 quid is ridiculous! Also, when you apply for a CRB, they send a copy of the certificate to the company and also to your home address so you know it's been done.
Did any of you recieve a copy?
Also, you DO NOT need to update them every two months. I update my worker's every year but I pay for it for them as it is a mandatory regulation of the business i run.
Sounds like you guys are paying for their lovely holiday homes in Alicante! |

| £23 p/h works out to be £50,000 per year... if it was that good we'd all be doing it. |
