hi, has anyone used Tranzfers (or any other internet services) to transfer cash to and from the UK? The rates seem too good to be true? Are they?
Thanks

Hey there,
I've been using Tranzfers for several months and they are excellent. I think there are a few reputable companies out there but they are much of a muchness. It depends on what features you are looking for, ie. Tranzfers don't pre-advise exchange rate, it is confirmed at time of actual transfer where I think my boyfriend uses another company that gives you the transfer rate prior to making the transfer.
There is another company that another friend of mine is using (sorry can't remember the names) but it is no charge for the transfer, the catch is that the transfer is slightly delayed, I think 5 days. If you want some of the names, post your email address and I'll get you more information.
Cheers, |

Hi,
don't really know how to reply to these things only just started using it, thought I should say be wary of some of the transfer companies, not all of them are as transparent as they seem, I bought a property in the US and when moved there, obviously needed to transfer money, I used MoneyCorp and they had good rates but the staff were a little patronizing. I did however thn move back to the UK a few years later and decided to try something new - I used CURRENCIES DIRECT, they were so much better the rate was great and the staff were so friendly. I would recomend Currencies Direct time and time again...
Hope this helps.

| just getting the hang of this - whereis.... just read your post, you said tranzfers give you the currency rate at the time of the transfer - this is where currencies direct are brilliant, they will advise you over when to make the transfer - keep an eye on whether the rate is high or low and likely to rise or fall and they do their best to get the cheapest rate for the customer - so you dont lose money through the transfer - i recomend you try them out, see what you think |

Hi,
I used currencies direct once but then began using Tranzfers. I found Tranzfers suited my needs better being a wholly internet based service as opposed to mostly phone. Also currencies direct uses HSBC as an intermediary and thus has a hidden charge of about $10 for transfers. Tranzfers doesn't operate in this way.
Personally I recommend Tranzfers. |
