Hi there, I have and always had a job that pays reasonably well, have travelled around the world and now it's time I started to think about my own business... I have read MANY books about personal growth and business and the statistic there clearly say that if you don't want to be payed per hour and want to earn some serious income you should have your own business.... (I have seen the statistics about how many businesses fail within the first 5 years, but still remain optimistic). Most of my friends own their own companies and it would be easy to ask them this, but I feel more comfortable to ask a complete stranger. I'd like to know where can I get information about how to create LTD, how to register your business etc..... A good website about how to start a business or some kind of institute in London... Just genereal info as this is my first step. Thanks a lot. |

Hi Coral,
Depending on where you live their will be a Business Advice Service provided either via the Local Council or via an independent provider.
These usually are provided free of charge although standards vary depending on borough.
My first port of call would be http://www.businesslink.gov.uk and ask who is the local business advice provider in your area.
Secondly, if you are buying an off the shelf company BEWARE !! of this fact as prices vary dramatically and you really need to check the Memmorandum of association to check how the business has been constitued. This could affect you later down the line... although can be changed by you it is alot of faffing about.
If you desperately need to buy an off the shelf solution then go to the following:
www.4business.com as you can pick up a company for way less than £300.00 and most City Entrepreneurs use their services they start at just £45.00. As you will see from their website they also provide a whole host of other services.
Also as a general resource guide for setting out get a copy of the the Good Small Business Guide I've put a link to amazon for you. (Cheaper is better don't pay full price always remeber when starting your own business ... Think and act like a big company spend like a small company).
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0747566909/203-1771240-9390362
There are a whole host of other websites to help you and get you started if I can help further drop me an email with some details about what you are wanting to do at info@escape.org.uk and I will see what I can do.
All the best,
J |
