Hi, I'm looking at moving to London in a little over a year, and I will be bringing my dog with me. Most of the listings for accomodations I have seen make no mention of pets. Is it generally accepted that you just have to ask each potential landlord, or are there laws about pets being allowed? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

| i think most landlords do not want you to have pets, unfortunately. a lot of contracts state in them that you can't have pets. its probably best to ask beforehand. |

| depends. Most landlords dont like pets, but you could offer to increase your deposit. Alternatively, you might offer references from previous landlords to say that your pet dog / cat / elephant didn't damage the apartment, or you may be lucky and find a pet owning landlord. Usually you'll find the latter through personal networks rather than agencies.... |
