Because all refurbishment work is done at night as it can not be done while the trains are still running

riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight... I know that! But why do you need one? Surely, if you are one of the people who needs to work on the tube at night, they give you one?!

are you asking how you are recruited to work on the tube?

Perhaps you could give TFL a call?

An entry permit (LUL PINK CARD) is very easy to obtain. Though it could cost you upto 80 quid. You can do the test with Cannon Training LTD (01277811300). There will be a short lesson on health & Safety aspects of the job and then a short test. You will be given the card straightaway. Hope it helps.

From my own experience you will first need to register with an agency who employ underground workers, Mane Engineering or just google LUL and loads will pop up. You will need the entry permit and will also the Fire/Safety ticket, one of them is valid for a year and to renew u just attend a refresher course, takes about 1hr, dont remmember how long the Fire/Safety ticket is valid for. I know there is a training centre in Stratford (TubeLines) cause thats where I went, cant remmeber the name.

I don't think you need an agancy to do the entry permit, the test will take place approx 2 weeks after booking, but could be sooner. When you pass, you can get work straightaway, about 62 quid a night.

Well worth spending the money as you'll probably get any outlay back in one or two days.

I think it must be.... I was on £110.00 a night as an electricians mate last year.

Working for a local electrical contractor with van / mobile supplied. I would collect materials from yard in the evening and drive up to stations and offload and get my hands dirty for a few hours... Normally four hours on track and four hours driving. `

The Green Card for Northern Line cost me £120 (that included rail fares up from kent, Hi-Vis & Hard hat) got this back from the firm in my second pay packet.

Here's a few cost pages for training.

Hi

I only worked on a fixed 8 month contract and it was electrical fitting out.
I do have a few mates on the Rail but, most of them now work on Railtrack since it all went back inhouse. Loads of agencies do LUL labour supply just have to search them out...

There was a job advertised here at Gumtree. You could try and contact the poster and see if there's anymore work...

Breeze advertise for workers here on LUL contracts.

Yes, you do need to be referred by a company or a recruitment agency. I called Canon and Traxdesys and both gave me the same answer. It is a unlucky circle because most agencies advertising jobs for LUL require you to already have the ticket. Unfair Sad
