Take a deep breath, cause it's a long story...
I'm married to a northern irish bloke, therefore should have a 2 year settlement visa, but when I came to the british embassy back in my home country he had a european passport so all i got is a 6 months permit.
He now got his british passport and i can get a 2 year settlement visa very easily by going back to my homecountry and get one, but i'm trying to get a permenant job meanwhile.
My question is should i really keep applying for permenant jobs and tell them at the interview stage my circumstances or should i just go from temp to temp till i change my visa in about 3 months?
thanks for your time (and yes, I know it was long!)
Lil. |

| What is the 6 month permit that you are on called? Doesn't that allow you to work? I'm thinking that it is a family permit which should allow you to work if your husband is exercising his treaty rights. |

No, I can definitely work with my visa and already have, but since its so temporary, people always think twice whether to hire me or not.
I've lost quite a few great jobs like this and don't know what to do |

Tracey, darling, what are you doing here?
Business in Soho couldn't possibly be more busy at this hour!
Oh, and thanks to all the replies.
I got myself a two year settlement visa and it's no longer a problem. |
