LONDON (Reuters) - HBOS will cut up to 425 jobs and shut one of its five mortgage brands to new business as the group positions itself for a shrinking loan market and a drop in house prices.
After a decade of booming values and cheap credit, the housing market has seen a sharp slowdown in recent months

| oh dear what going to happen to prices? demand is dropping, no more credit no more boom, no one wants to buy a property. who low can it drop, just need to wait 4-5 years to see. |

you should really read up on credit expansion and contraction, this has direct influence on demand. |

People stay put instead. Without significant forced sales, nothing happens. |

yep, with out forced sales however it has never happend like that, this time round debt is greater than everbefore with more sources of debt, why do you think governments around the world are doing everything they can to stop this from crashing, they can't stop it.
Deflation is just around the corner, anyone with assest such as homes etc.. aprt from gold is going to be hit hard. |

Economic history and the most common things people do in a boom and in a crisis. You assumed that i never worked? i learned from work, uni and life. People always make the same mistakes in life. |
