Hi there.
I am a foreigner but speak fluent English and I think an intelligent and educated person.
I have registered and done a course with a national healthcare agency with more than 100 branches and which say " we are professional".
They promised work after succesful training. I have applied CRB with them almost 3 months ago and then they have been messing me around with that till yet too! They forgot to tell what they need, lied, didn`t tell me what is missing in time and almost never called me back when I wanted to find out what is going on.
I compketed the corse so long time ago and they noticed I still have to wait weeks!
Disgusting and unfair, isn`t it? I believed in so and later I didn`t wanted to lose the time I have invested.
I am total shocked and devastated and after all, my saved up money gone for rent, etc so I am close to be homeless.
Anyone knows what can I do...any legal action maybe?
Cheers,
Chantale |

Is the agency your registered with a 'recruitment agency' which provide workers on an as an when basis?
If so, there really isn't anything you can do excect move past it and don't join them! They will have contract that state you will only work when they have the work for you and in this climate 'temporary agencies' are suffering somewhat.
Use the training they gave you (i'm assuming it was moving & handling, first aid, POVA ect) to find yourself a permanent job in healthcare. I don't know where you live but contact all of the local residential and nursing homes to ask about vacancies. Sometimes, going direct to a care home, they will start you before your CRB comes back as long as they complete a POVA (adult protection) check first (not all do this though).
Don't let this experience knock your confidence, there are a lot of rubbish agencies out there that treat people as a pound sign so avoid them at all costs and be proactive about finding yourself a permanent job.
Hope this helps |

if it took just 6 months, i would be lucky.
mine took 10 months, despite i had provided full adress history on separate sheets since the beginning. they returned it twice to me that the full adress history was not provided... i had to reapply twice. still with the same adress history. nothing had been changed. the third trouble was they sent me both cheques back while they almost validatet my third application. i paid by telephone then. and finally it was OK.
total mess!
and after the first rejection they did not even let me know that something was wrong. I had been waiting fot 10 weeks, being happier and happier that i did not hear from them that something was wrong. Though it should to take about 8 weeks to complete the process... If I did not call I probably wait until now, one and half year after first application
but i did it with different agency. it was an application for a licence that included CRB check. |

Hi
Well, the agency has lots of work.
The problem was, that they messed things up, didn`t really know where is my profile on the way, didn`t let me know if there were any missing stuff. It shows they don`t work well as team!
Anyway, thanks for all replies, very kind of you.
