Hi.
its not like it was 10 years ago. but if you look at promoting night clubs in central london. you should get 50% of the door takings from your clients.
its a hard job. you will get loads of folk who tell you to fuck off. or get a proper job. or basically wast your time talking to you and them changing there minds. all planed of course.
but if you are good you could make £100 for 3 hours maybe more.
depends on how confident you are and how you take the crap.
otherwise check out markets they are pretty good for a fast quid.
All the best mate. |

My tip is to question why you are happy to evade national insurance contributions and withold taxes which leaves you at the mercy of exploitative employers.
Query whether you find it appropriate to use the services and infrastructure that it pays for, such as the NHS and subsidised public transport.
If you are non-UK born, consider whether this activity affects the reputation of the community of visitors here who are happy to go through the legal procedures of procuring work and who are happy to contribute something back to the country that hosts them. |

| From what I hear: bar or club work work (depending if it's a big chain or what), kitchen porter or cleaning glasses, holding signs in the street (rubbish, I know)selling at market stalls (noticed an advert for one of them in the jobs section), some cleaning jobs, small shops, but the main thing is to go in to places as most won't advertize on the internet. |

I too am looking for cash in hand work - and no, I'm not happy to evade national insurance contributions and withhold contributions toward NHS etc...
I am also not happy that the Social Care Council have taken 3 months (and claim to take up to 6mths) to register my degree and allow me to practice as a qualified social worker, in a city that apparently is 'crying out' for social workers.
I am also not happy that after accomplishing the enormous feat of securing a job where the company offered to sponsor me, the Home Office still hadn't processed my application after 2 months consequently causing the company to withdraw their offer.
Furthermore, I am not happy that the Home Office has a period of 4-14 weeks to process my student application. My last ditch attempt to stay in this country legally, enabling me to work a measly 20 hrs a week.
And to precede someone telling me to go home, obviously if it were that easy and I wasn't committed to staying here for a reason, I would. |

THE GUY'S RIGHT................GET YOUR CASH IN HAND WORK...........BUT ASK YOURSELF THIS: HOW MUCH BETTER OFF AM I? TAX IS PAYABLE FOR THE PROVIDENCE OF NECESSARY COMMUNITY STRUCTURES WHICH IM SURE YOU HAVE NO PROBLEM USING WITHOUT SPARING A THOUGHT FOR WHO ACTUALLY PAYS FOR THEM (NOT YOU APPARENTLY). SO...GET A CLUE AND MAYBE SOME SORT OF EDUCATION AND YOU'LL SOON LEARN THAT EVEN WHEN YOU PAY TAX, THERE ARE LEGAL WAYS TO PAY LESS THAN DICTATED. PS: I HATE TAX
BUT WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT IT, WHAT SORT OF DUMPHOLE WOULD A COUNTRY BE WITHOUT IT?
PPS I HATE TAX |

Hi
Just had another read of what you and other have to say.
Intresting and educational to say the least
First thing you keep saying you are not happy with the home office and variouse departments that are processing your application.
Now stop saying negative things about them and look at what you are planning on doing ?.
Im not happy that you want to work cash in hand jobs and ask us for help.
Ok i did drop you an email giving you a few tips.
But get off the computer and walk around the streets with your CV. and ask who needs help.
Do Volunteer work. that woud help your application for social work as you have no experience in this counry already.
Do 2-4 hours a week more if you can.
That will enance you chances better than doing some boring street work holding a sign up.
You have a degree. use it. think what do i need to do.
Ask professional corporations what do i need ?.
Then you will be on track for a career in the uk.
ALL THE BEST DAVE. |

british taxes are way too high. i'll never pay them
most security companies offer cash-in-hand work especially if the employer is foriegn (read: south african). get yourself a CSCS card bru you can pull £70plus tax free doing "kaffir-werk" in london (just go to sites not through temp agencies) or £40 in the countryside. OR buy a cheap car and tune a pizza delivery place if you can do deliveries. CASH, EASY.
i had to stop doing that coz i got pulled and my car had no road tax or MIOT (i dont pay it coz its too high as well) . advice. make sure you keep that stuff valid or you may have to chuck a good cab!!

Yes, if you aren't keen on paying tax/NI contributions while using the national services in the country and want to benefit from the host country without giving anything back, then you may as well zip about in an untaxed, uninsured, dangerous car, perhaps siphoning petrol to save a few more quid. Also, as tax, insurance & MOT's don't seem to apply, why obey traffic signals, surely these are optional?
Do other people on the forum think this mentality will cover all areas of a person's life and negatively impact their community?
Based on the fact that some individuals think they are exempt from paying their way in a basic way, here's other areas where they can also milk the system, annoy their host community and fellow travellers
* evade paying Council tax (impact: it pushes up the bill for other residents or forces councils to cut services but if you are not paying at all, this will make no difference)
* evade paying fares on public transport (impact: as above)
* evade paying for expensive treatment and prescriptions (impact: as above)
* don't pay your rent (impact: landlords will push up their rent levels and deposits for new tenants to cover your void)
* consider not paying for utilities, telephone/internet connections, waterbills, TV licences
Your fellow colleagues won't mind the further tightening of immigration control and visa requirements to try and counteract those who choose to sponge, they'll think you are a hero. |
