This crisis is going to affect the whole country in terms of food shortages and increased prices.
I reckon we're also ging to see the suicide rate among farmers soar over the next couple of years, same as happened during the BSE crisis.

Obviously, I realise its a bit late now but why weren't flood barriers at least attempted to be erected in gloucestershire following the early flood warnings?
They were put in place in south yorkshire after the floods, which although too late to prevent the devestation has at least provided a barrier which can be used to pump the water back through leaving a 'dry area'. |
