When I was a paediatric nurse we had a child with extensive eczema. We would wrap her every night in bandages on the affected areas. It seemed to help to ease the itch -scratch-itch-bleed cycle. It is important to keep the area as supple & moist without it becoming soggy.
I would also try changing his diet.Try to exclude junk, lots of fish-oils,maybe soya milk but only the fortified type which you need a prescription for I think-this does contain a lot of sugar so use sparingly.
It is a very distressing condition. My brother had it very badly but my Mum washed him with olive oil rather than water & he has the most marvellous skin to this day.He used a steriod cream for a brief period but the olive iol washing seemed to work.
Use a non-biological wash powder & off course an emoillient to wash him-even hand washing.Use the creams if he is bad.It really is not prescribed unless it is neccesary.
Go back to the Doctor & ask for a 2nd opinion. Is their a Homeopathy Clinic/Hospital in your area.? know they are trying to get rid of the NHS ones but it is worth checking out.Often they help with conditions such as eczema where conventional methods have failed.
Try to keep him calm & in a routine as this does help.Keep his nails short & keep an eye out for infection. My youngest charge had very bad eczema but we tried the bandaging, the Wysoy & lots of emoillient & it worked. With the occasional use of the steriod cream but he did get an nfection once & that was nasty. The skin on his ankles is still a bit dry to this day. |

Sure she just never bathed him in water until he was about two as the water seemed to make the eczema flare up.
She got the olive oil from the Chemist & would just swab him with it using cotton wool.It is also great for nappy rash.So he was not bathed from about three months until he was about two just swabbed all over with the oil.He smelled great, always had lovely soft skin & a fantastic tan!
She also used rain water to wash his clothes by hand but I think it would probably be too pollutted these days! |

Try rubbing the affected area with mashed Avacado. It eased my Son's up in no time. You can mash it up and use the skin of the avacado to apply it.
Leave it on for a hour rinse off with olive oil and pat dry.
Since I used that my Son has never suffered another attack. |

hav only just joined the forum but I suffer from exzema quite badly.
I get it worst on my legs I find that when my legs get particularly hot then they will itch like mad.
I try to keep cool and I use Aqueos cream which you can also bathe in, i also use E45 itch relief cream as this cools the itch quite well and as a last resort I will use eumavate steroid cream.
I use the aqueos cream twice a day to keep my skin supple as when it gets dry the itch is worse.
hope his exzema clears up soon.

Diet helps significantly - it is usually the first thing that most people should look into when they have any illnesses, reactions or such like.
Organic products, nothing processed or with additives, pure juices - but preferably only filtered water to drink.
Having a soft water attachment onto your cold supply to reduce the harshness of the water.
Everything along this line helps as I watched my friends little girl go from a bleeding crocodile to having beautiful skin.
Now she is older she does have the odd flare up, but that is only when she "treats" herself to a fast food option or someone else has prepared dinner and it has additives.
Also slightly warmed olive oil is good too. |

Diprobase cream from head to toe daily will help to keep excema away. However when it starts ensure you use the correct betnovate.
My daughter suffers very badly with excema but if I keep up with the creaming every day then she doesnt get it hardly at all.
Also the use of cotton clothes instead of synthetic material is a must as synthetics irritate.
in summer, let your child sunbathe. The sun heals excema very quickly. |
