We just wanted to point out that we have updated the forum rules - please see the announcement above - and to give you a bit more information about this.

The basis of the Gumtree forums has always been a friendly and welcoming place for the community to enjoy chat and banter and we are keen with your help to make sure that this is the case.

The rules have been updated to hopefully help make things clearer for everyone about what is and isn’t acceptable on the forums. Please bear in the mind the 'Keep it friendly' rule in particular - banter and friendly teasing are all part of the fun in forums but insults and bullying isn't. If you come across users you don't agree with then please simply steer clear of their posts, don't resort to playground tactics.

As is always the case not everyone will always agree with every decision made by admin or the mods as we enforce these rules but we hope that above all you find that we manage to help encourage the forums as a friendly, fun and welcoming place for you all to enjoy.
