|
|
Hi guys,
So, this guy phoned me and started yaking away, telling me that i had my phone for more than a year now and im on vodafone so I qualify for a contract with them (I have my phone for 6 months, the first 3 with vodafone, thereafter i moved to tesco).
He then offered me some flashy phone with 1200!! free mins for only £22 pm! He didnt seem to concerernd when I asked if I can just get the phone, then cancel the debit order after 3 months, and then started asking me my banking details so he could send me my new phone.
He said he was from 3/T-mobile.
Whats up with that?
I hung up, cause this sounded to good to be true... |

I think it is best to always hang up on contract dealers as such.
Sometimes they can offer deals you cant refuse, however they are very clever, it all runs on a cashback system. They will tell you that it is for 22 pounds a month. Once contract is agreed you will get bills from 3/t-mobile of 45 - 50 pounds a month.
They will tell you on the phone you will get the remainder subtracted from the total of 3 bills for e.g
50 x 12 = 600 P/A
but as they said it will be 22 pounds a month which would = 22 x 12 = 264...
so bascially that means you will get back a cashback from this company of 600 - 264 = 336
They are hardly ever calling from the actual network provider.
Alot of people get scammed over the phone, they will not usually get the cash back and will end up paying hefty bills.
Sorry if it sounds bit too confusing. |

Hi sophia666,
Unfortunately it hards to know who is true and who isn't, as a company director I always check companies out before trading with them. If your not sure the best advice would be don't go there, cause if it sounds to good to be true it probably is, but you can always try checking them on www.companieshouse.gov.uk if they are registered on this site then they are governed by trading standards and you can sue them for mis-repersentation of their producs.
I hope this helps. |

The best way to get a good deal on your contract is to phone up your current provider and ask to cancel your account (after 12 months). They will then perusade you to keep your contract and offer you a good deal.
my contract with oops! is £8.50 per month plus x amount of free calls in the eveing and 100 free txts. And i got a new phone free worth £180.
If someone calls you dont listen and dont give any details out. Call them instead. |
