Hi Folks,

What do you think about people who sell computer equipment on gumtree, which isn't the spec they adverizise?

It drives me mad, I went to surbiton to purchase a p3 found it to be a tiney computer not the compaq advertized, theses people need to be stoped, what do you guys think, please get back to me if this has happened to you.

he probably thought I wouldn't remember what machine he adverzised, He then gave an excuse that the hard drive had been wiped and that I would have to collect it another day, but the thing I hate is if he had said it was a tiny computer I wouldn't have bothered even viewing it.

oh well, theres not much we can do but wait and see what the equipment looks like when we get there I guess.

yeah, never thought people would do that. i can understand why someone might ask for a photo of a table or something but I guess you should ask for a photo of the computer before going!!

Yeah I should have lol, I have now taken to copying the whole advert before contacting the seller including any pics on the advert just in case.

Oh well live and learn I guess.

i personally wouldn't buy second hand equipment off of people, especially hard drives, as the information on them prior to you getting it, is still there even after a guttman wipe or format, it makes you liable for any weird interests they may have.

I know, I have now stopped buying off of gumtree, coz I got messed about too many times, plus I tryed to share some info I had on a good company that does IT stuff, but my advert got taken off, so I have now given up with gumtree as a whole.

Oh well!!!!!
