HI,

I read some stories and mine is not as much as critical as the others, I can say, but it is still disappointing.

when I signed the contract they said they were looking for people who want to stay for long term. This is what I wanted too. I moved into this flat and the flat is really nice, I was happy, until 1 day (3 month after I signed the contract) they decided to sell. Ok I can understand. BUT This has occured a massive stress to me as at the same time my brother had a really bad motorbike accident and I was completly out of my mind even at work. anyway they carried on and the viewings started. first they always told when were the viewings but weeks after weeks they started not to warn me and even come to my flat with a notice of 1 hour sometimes without notice . I was really flexible so I let them do it. But then they started to do the viewings by themself without the help of the agency and because of my landlord was working his girlfriend came around to show the flat, I am a REALLY tidy and clean person and she started to put my belongings to other place, like I always leave the remote control on the coffee table, I think she didn't like that and she hide it into one of my drawer (I know it is nothing, but this is one the things she did hide, anyway it took me 30min to find it!), or even more one day she had a viewing I was aware so everything was sparkling and perfect but I left one thing, my towel and she removed it from the bathroom to put it in my drawer again! The thing is I don't like when people are touching my personal belonging such as a towel. Anyway couple of days later I started to receive a lot of text message from her saying that I have to remove my belongings which are in the hallway(which are a small shoe rack and hooks for coats), and things like that. And these text messages had occured a lot of stress again. But the things I have noticed are when she came to show the flat she always left the toilet unclean and unflushed, which is disgusting! and even more my landlord came to check my washing machine because I had problem with it, when he came I was at work and I didn't know he was coming as we were supposed to meet that evening. When I came back at home I noticed that he collect his mail (yes he is still receiving mail at my address) but this mail were in one of my cupboard, so I assume he had to check all of my cupboard to find his mail, and then when I entered the living room all the mail were opened and left with his newspaper and rest of food all over my coffee table, and as usual toilet uncleaned. I was so disapointing I could n't even text him to say what he did. Now my washing machine is still not working it is now 9 days and when I asked him the contact number for the guy, as I have enough , first he didn't replied and the next day he replied saying"why do you need his contact number I told you I will do it, the guy will come at some point but don't know when yet", I didn't replied for now as I am exhausted to do all the compromise and that it is working only one way.

my story is not bad and can be handable but sometimes just even writing is a good exercise to throw away all my anger.

hi maya,
i hope you know that it AGAINST THE LAW for your landlord to even ENTER your property without your consent.
they are not allowed to touch ANYTHING.
If they phone and say somebody wants to view your flat and you say no they cannot let anybody in to see it.
As for going though your cupboards to find mail and what sounds like eating at you house and leaving things out this is definatly NOT ALLOWED.
i think you need some legal advice i reccomend the citizens advice they will write letters for you to tell your landlord and his girlfriend to BACK OFF.
they cannot do this to you........remember they cannot touch your stuff AT ALL and they cannot enter the property EVER without your consent they may own the property but you have tenants rights.

you definatly need lagal advice on this

good luck .......

Smile

All,

Is that legal that the landlord enters your property for gas/electricity/water workers to read meters without your consent, and without telling you before?
