The world cries out for a new power source, the world's supply of oil is rapidly decreasing and we here on the news that green power isn't strong enough to supply the world on it's own. But here is my plan...
If we attached generators ot exercise bikes they would generate a small amount of electricity, but if we got many, then we would have lots of power. Imagine an endless supply of power, unemployment would be a thing of the past, no qualifications needed to use an exercise bike.
This is my grand plan... and where else (other than school) could i get it ridiculed and critisied better than here... So if you agree, say so. But if you don't, find a problem, and I shall enlighten you to the NEW GREEN SYSTEM! |

I've been saying this for years. Hook up all the exercise machines at health clubs to the national grid and we will have all the electricity we'd need. Truly a wasted source of energy
But if I want exercise, I just pull on my boots and go out the door. The countryside has much more to offer than a sweaty gym with sourpuss people. |

plus using the power provided by one of those "shake em to work" torches
wired to the grid and given away free with every jazz mag. one school of teenage boys could provide enough electricity for a town ( til their eyesight failed ) sadly humans can generate much power about 200 W
unless you are an Olympic athlete, it would be tough for you to generate a third of a horsepower on a bicycle for any substantial length of time. A "normal person" might be able to sustain a third of a horsepower for half an hour before falling off the bike from exhaustion. 1 hp = 746W |

The 2005 report prepared by the Chernobyl Forum, led by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and World Health Organization (WHO), attributed 56 direct deaths (47 accident workers, and nine children with thyroid cancer), and estimated that there may be 4,000 extra deaths due to cancer among the approximately 600,000 most highly exposed and 5,000 among the 6 million living nearby |

ok ok you have a point. I didn`t mean the UK i ment the whole world. When you have a coal mining accident of oil exploration, it doens`t create radioactive waste, not waste but fall out like chernobyl did |
