Hi everyone,

I've just been victim of a scam by a so-called REBECCA LYNNE GRIEVE.
I was in a hurry of finding a room in London (i'm italian so I couldn't check the house directly) so she (or he) now has my £450 that I stupidly sent through western union.
Her email is rebecca.bec03@googlemail.com and she contacted me through an ad I put on gumtree.

Sad

now I know, but I had no idea once I made the payment (plus...I was very worrie of not finding a place to stay, and that makes you do stupid things... Sad

anyway, I would suggest Gumtree to put a HUGE link on their homepage to the Scam watch section...many people don't notice it, or find it just AFTER they had a suspect or, like me, that have been victims of a scam... Sad

i did here in italy, but they said that Western Union can't do much.
Also, I'll have to report in London too because of the international laws on privacy..

No.

They cannot.

Western Union requires very little information to draw the cash out. The most you'll get from them is where in the world the acsh went, that is all. It's not that they don't want to tell you, it's that the informationt you seek isn't even held.

Police will not be able to find something that wasn't recoreded.

The police can't really do anything. First off, there is a 99% chance the money was not withdrawn in the UK. It was probably taken out in Nigeria, Russia or elsewhere. Second, the person who withdrew the money did so using a false ID matching the name of the recipient you sent it to. So if you sent to your father's name, all they can tell you is that your father picked up the transfer.

Hi sylviakdc, (my french is much better than my english so you can translate it by Systran or other…).

hi sylviakdc,
yesterday i send REBECCA LYNNE GRIEVE a mail to expalin that i know there is not room and she ( he ) just wanted my money. Today she send me her australian ID if you need somethin g i can maybe give you it. She use that mail adress: becky.20019@gmail.com. She told me that she lives in dublin and ask me to do it:
Security deposit has to be made to my lawyer.

He'll prefer Western union money transfer so that he can collect the payment same day.

Here is the details as follow.
Reciver Name : Smith Dave
ADDRESS: 34 Station Approach, Court Road
CITY: London
POST CODE: SE9 4EN
I will be waiting to see your mail and the Western Union transfer details as
NAME OF SENDER:?
ADDRESS OF SENDER:?
MTCN:?
AMOUNT:?

As soon as he confirm your payment he'll issue you an acknowledgment receipt which serve as you've rent the room as your room to move inn when you get to Dublin. I'll be looking forward to read your mail soon.

maybe that can help you

SCam for flats renting in Dublin.

"She" posts ads on regular internet sites. My son Clément Giraud was about to sign the lease contract and sens 900 euros (500 for deposit and 400 for 1st month rental) trough Western Union to a lawyer supposedly based in London.

Before to do that, I checked to find the lawyer's phone number but it was inexistant...
Then I found it was scam trough Gumtree.

"Rebecca" uses the following address mail : ann.20101@gmail.com

The lawyer's name : Chris Ryan
ADDRESS: 33 Station Approach, Court Road
CITY: London
POST CODE: SE9 4EN

Phone number : +447031939116

I am concerned although I did not send any money, because they have my son's ID photocopy and could use it to abuse people.

I have then called french cyberpolice and they recommended me to declare it to my police station.

Be careful!!!

Has anyone else had any sort of this trouble? Please message back. Thank you.

Hey,
I read your posts here and now I´m interested in your experiences with Regina Johanna Stout. She offered me a room in an apartment in a great area of Washington DC. So we are writing mails for a few weeks. She seemed really nice and friendly and the room is (probably too) cheap. Now she sent me a signed contract, a copy of her passport and wants 2800$ now to reserve the room and for the first rents.
I should transfer the money with Western Unon, too.
What do you think about that and Jake - where did she offered you a room?
Thanks for your answers!

I am currently speaking to Regina Johanna Stout. Apparently she is looking for a roomate on Apt1G.225 West, 60th Street, New York, New York.

She sent me nice pictures of the apartment and the rent should be of USD 1000/month. She sent me the contract and everthing. However I am wondering if it is real as I am currently in Moscow and cannot visit the apartment in NY. The Assured Tenancy Contract seems real however having seen her name appear on this forum worries me. I think it is fake because at first she wanted a 1000 USD deposit plus a 1 motnhs pay in advance to reserve it. I asked her why I had to pay One months pay in advance and now she has accepted a deposit of only 1000.

She also send me a picture... of her?? Well if it is her she is blonde and 24 years old.

I read That A person had had some trouble with her. Is this true? Anyone else?

Thanks for your help.

I should be sending the money very soon in order to reserve the apartment so please tell me as asson as possible

Regina Johanna Stout has told me that her lawyer is in Lodon and that he is the one who will be receiving the money through Western Union:
Here are the details:

Name:Joshua Kasinga
Address: 28 Moreton Street.
City: London
Zip code:SW1V 2PE
Country:England

Beware of this person is my advice!!!!!

They have my scanned passport too. There's not much I can do except go to the police. They will probably use my identity to abuse more people like they did to the poor real Regina Johanna Stout.
