Hello there,

Basically I want to find somewhere thats within a reasonable walking distances to London Liverpool Street. I will be working in the City and really would ideally like to be able to walk (by walk I mean something thats like 20 to 40 minutes walk away).

Now obviously such things are a bit expensive cause of the location and realistically somewhere like Barbican is out of reach.

I dont want to spend more than really 800 a month on somewhere to live (I am looking at a double room in a househare), and looking to ideally find something mid june. Now if other people are in the same boat and looking for accomodation in the same kind of area then I wouldnt mind looking around with others - afterall I'll be new to London.

So I am basically looking at:
- Old Street
- Angel
- Aldgate
- Canary Wharf (although DLR in the morning / evening rush hour isnt appealing).
- Shoreditch (not sure)
- Bethnal Green

I was just wondering where people think is a decent area to live, and if there is anyone else in the same boat of working in the city or there abouts and wanting accomodation as well. So any thoughts on this would be appreciated - thanks!

Are you still looking??
I work in the Liverpool St area and am looking to move somewhere closer to work over the summer. I have a similar budget and would like to form a group of people before going house hunting.
I'm currently in Canary Wharf and can tell you that the DLR is a wonderful dream compared to the underground.
