I am finding it a struggle to find a private landlord to rent from and from what I have found letting agents charge all sorts of fees.

I don't mind paying a bit, but one quoted me £225 "administration" fee!

Anyone know any good agents particularly in South West London

From all of the agents I called, fees seem to range from 150-250 pounds. Just call around and ask up front what the fees are.

dont bother with agent try local shops, window display or loot,gumtree, or friends, ignore all the agents fees you will be better off
