I heard my polish roommates saying nagura when I passed them in the apartment. Afetr they passed me and said hello, they said it a few times and laughed. What does it mean, not sure of the spelling...sounds like nag--urrr..raa...or could have been naiguira...I figured it was aan insult or something..I really want to know.

Gum - I hope you don't really mean that about the tooth brushes?.

That's going WAY over the top, especially if you're not even sure what the word means. There are many thousands of Polish people in London - why don't you just ask one what it means?

Failing that, next time these girls say the word to you - say it right back to them and see what their reaction is - it may not necessarily be an insult.

In any event, I really wouldn't be doing disgusting sh*t to people's toothbrushes - that's just really f*cked up and would say more about you than about them.
