|
|
Hi I live close to Willesden Sports Centre and am looking for people to play occasionally in the evenings. I used to play every week when I worked in Kentish Town ( I organised about 12 of use from work to play every week) but now I work in the City, I can't find a court or enough people to play with. My mates either live too far away or can't play.
I prefer to play doubles so need a few people. I would say I'm at an itermediate level. So people who know the rules and can play a bit.
I have a few spare rackets.
If it matters I'm 28 and outgoing. (basically not a boring old fart)
so looking for similar people |

Great, I haven't played for a few months either. Although if your really good and make me look bad I won't be happy.
I think it will be more fun to play doubles, Also its bloody knackering playing singles. So lets try get some more people.
I know some buts its just timing and location.
Booking a court is a nightmare so I will need to book exactly 7 days in advance to get a slot. Will you be driving?
I go away in 3 weeks for 3 weeks so would be good to get a game in before then.

Hi Shui-Yee,
Are you still looking for players? I've not played in any organised capacity before, but I'm sure I can hold up one end.
I live not far from the Willesden Sports Centre (and am looking to become a member) in NW2.
If it matters, I'm 38yo professional, reasonably fit but looking to get reasonably fitter...
Would be fun to join in.
Let me know.

Hey yes I am still looking for players, mickeymac has disappeared though, !
Swiss cottage is also a possibility but it means taking stuff into work and back again to play afterwork.
do you know anyone who can play too? |

A pity...
I'm not sure if you've mentioned Swiss Cottage because of my response, but I live in Willesden Green (5min ride from the Willesden Sports Centre - WSC). WSC would be my preference, however, Swiss Cottage is possible if there is some reason to go there (cost? facilities? more opportunity for more players? etc).
At this stage, I don't know of any other players, but I would reckon that it shouldn't be too hard to find another two. (Perhaps by advertising again on Gumtree - which I know can provide for a flaky response - or with a notice on the gym billboard etc. I also have contacts to other online forums that MIGHT provide other interest.)
I'm with you, I think 2-v-2 would be more fun, but in the meantime, 1-v-1 is still good for me if you're up for it.
I take it that you've had at least one hit out (with mickeymac perhaps) at the WSC. What were the court hire costs?
(I've sent you an email in case you would rather discuss this offline).

Yep I will respond to you email later its blocked from work and I dont' want to put my work address on here. I will give it to you later. so I can email you during the day.
WSC is cheaper, I have a card so I can book usually about 6 pounds something but I paid £2.85 the other week. they are very disorganised there.
I go on holiday in 9 days (not that I'm counting) so if you don't mind trying to ralley the troops we can play when I get back. if we can't get anyone else singles is fine. but I will get knackered!
I think I will get more responses if I post a picture! |

Are you still up for playing badminton at Willesden SC weekdays evenings? My level is intermediate and I'm not great at singles but quite good at doubles.
I am 33 and need to play more sports again..

Hi YummyMummy,
Whats the score with badmington at the moment? Are you still arranging matches? And if so is there any chance I can join up.
I'm on the wrong side of 30 but I am still fairly fit and love the sport. I live in West London but I haven't had a game of badmington in many years. When I was playing I was at intermediate level and I think it will take long to get back to that level.
Anyway, if your still interested in setting up matches I very interested. |
