Sorry but would have to come down on the side of the police here. If tranq guns were an hour away, the bear could have eaten its way through half a village in that time.
Remember that polar bears are the only species that actively hunt human beings - they are not the cute fluffy things in coke adverts, they are several hundred pounds very efficient killing machines. |
