Need more information to advise fully.
Why do you thing you are entitled to a tax refund?
Failing everything you can just call the HMRC tax office that looked after the tax you say you want to recover.
Let me know more and I'll point you in the right direction.

If you go through the Inland Revenue, you will need to submit your pay slips, P60s and P45s for any jobs covered during the period you are querying.e.g April 2007 - April 2008 or for all periods. If you did not get any from the employers, you will need to contact them to send you one and they should send you one fairly quickly.
Inland Revenue will send you a form if necessary e.g if you have not claimed a tax refund before; to fill out your jobs in the period and to list any periods you did not work.
I do this every year and apply to the Lothians Office in Edinburgh(may be different for you) which you can find on the Inland Revenue website. I get back at least 100 - 200 quid so it is definitely worth doing.
If you are and have been on the correct tax code, you will not get a refund. however, if you've had two jobs or been put on the wrong or emergency tax code by the employers(normally occurs if you do not have a P45 from your previous employer to show your current employer), you will get a refund. Good luck |

The last time I rang up enquiring about a refund because I thought my employer had put me on the emergency tax rate, the assistant at the Inland Revenue sniffed and said that my paid tax 'looked about right' but that they'd check.
Then I received a demand saying I'd underpaid tax and a bill for £60. |
