HAS ANYONE ANY IDEAS HOW TO GET A NEW WEBSITE AND FORUM NOTICED? It allows people to GET/ASK FOR HELP with a new hobby, sport, business. It is the site I tried to find but couldn't when we needed help with a shaky business so someone must need it. IDEAS PLEASE.

Recently, i have come across a very good site to upload videos to showcase my talent to the world. The site is Thinkgottalent.com on which you can upload video clips, create friends within the community, keep a collection of your favorite videos, and comment on clips. You can also search videos of your favorite performers by topic or keyword. You can upload video clips of any size and it is our problem to make sure that it runs properly on the site for the viewers. You can also comment on videos and rate them once you have become a registered user. To submit your videos to Thinkgottalent.com, you must sign up to become a member. If you want to step up to more community features and get widespread viewership of your video clip, then you also got options for that on Thinkgottalent.com.

In the first place you have to make sure that your website has been designed appropriately for human consumption and not the search engine.
The next one is that,you have to make sure that the subject or topic you are publishing is genuine and also genuinely of interest to the public.
You will also need to know who your target customers are in other to get to where you wanna be.
You will also need to be to understand copy writing and to put it effectively into work
You will have to create topics that will make people to start to link to which means that,the "linkers" have got something in common with you.
You will need to a site and forum that is search engine friendly and optmized with relevant key words
You will need to submit your website to places like joeants,shopping.com,google,yahoo,msn,ask,open source
you will need to write press releases that will draw the public to your site and or forum.

As you can see,there is alot you need to do and if i keep naming them one by one,it could take days while i am still writing.However if you can start this way,then i think you are not far from realizing your goal.

I use MSN and Windows Live skydrive. Just creat a new profile for your business and use skydrive to share info about your business. Free advertising, get you MSN friends to share your business info and it will snowball.

You can also join social networking sites, like facebook and myspace, make friends and introduce them your site.

Even yahoo answers can help, by answering questions that are relevant to your website(niche) you can place your link as resource to your answers.

I specialise in SEO and Online Marketing -

You need to work your way through a checklist - Its quite time consuming but the results will generate natural links through to your site without the reliance on paid advertisement such as ADWORDS which can prove costly.

1) Register your website on business directories e.g. applegate

2) Attack web forums such as this... generating interest in a forum propells your site in organic listings through indirect links back to your website.. (Only problem with this method is if the forum creates negative feedback)

3) Online reviews - Use review sites that are *doctored* to create positive information about your company e.g. reviewcentre.com

4) Look at the top ranked competitors, you can analyse their sites through alexa.com and see who they are using as external links and affiliates back to their sites.. use this information to develope the same relationships that are linking to your top competitors..

5) Free sponsored ADS... that's right, indirectly you can create free sponsored ads through google that link through a third party back to your website - www.ziki.com has a free mechanism for generating free 30 day campaigns on specific keywords..

6) Blogs - Blogs can generate tons of traffic if you attack them correctly.. update with continous information and use a platform that will do most of the ranking work for u... e.g. word press or blogspot... Develope links with similar blogs and start a community of blogs that send traffic to your site. Eventually you can then pursue RSS feed in your blog..

7)Affiliates - Quite simple. create banners and share with other relating websites.. Try offering incentives for third parties to host your banners e.g. rev-share schemes...

Video Streaming - Youtube... one of the greatest inventions of this decade!! A marketers dream!! Upload relating streams with links back to your site.. Youtube creates an obscene amount of traffic if you can get create exciting streams that user would want to watch.. other similar sites such as metacafe are effective also..

9) Newsletters - Buy a mailing list and use a platform such as mailing manager to *spam* those listings..

10) Finally - And most importantly.. Optimise your site content for a search engine.. use google analytics and webtools to analyse your site and see where you need to edit cotent..

Dont forget a sitemap, page titles, meta-tags (although they arn't really that important any more) and use word content on your site that you think a user of google would type in... i.e. if u sell Coffee through your site, use wording such as "leading coffee retailer" "Top coffee" etc..
