| Is it worth telling the police if a neighbour leans over, cuts your hedge, screws his washing line into your side of the fence, threatens to come and cut your tree down when you're not there because it's bothering him, and threatens to cut your mother's hand off when she says she wants to get rid of her fence, which he thinks is his (the posts are facing your way)? |

Seriously does it not depend if you feel threatened?
What you could do is go to the local plod, tell them that you expect there to ba disturbance of the peace at a given time and where it will occur. At that time knock on your neighbour's door and ask him to cease with his threats. You will then have a plod prescence if it goes pear shaped. If that fails, then get the baseball bat of xbird and introduce your neighbour to it |

Yes mate that is definately threatening behaviour. Not sure how much the cops could do unless he did something more definite though.
By the way I've gotta ask, are you named after Dan "Hollywood" Henderson the MMA legend? |

In these situations it's important to keep an acurate written record of events, and yes you should keep the police informed so they know whats going on. Don't retaliate (however tempting it might be) it will only weaken any case you have against him.
I was in a similar situation a few years ago, I went to the police who were very helpfull. It took several months to build a case against my neighbour because the police wanted as much against him as possible, he was eventually prosecuted. |
