Adverts go on and off, you never know where you are

Gumtree appear to steal money from people by removing paid ads

Administration is ZERO. This Twiggy, is he/she as brain dead as the tree she was snapped off from

Gumtree is now a big joke, loads of people are saying it's the bigget lot f crap on the internet

yeah you are right the gumtree system needs to be looked into the site needs a big review and look into evrything all the problems etc and whats going on in the system who is running this as they seem to not be doing a good job and do not know what they are doing they should not be in charge to run a site they need to let the customers know and put them first as gumtree is going down hill not up they need to look into improvements and put them into practise and action needs to be taking but gumtree dont take what the customers say on board they say things but there do this and that but with no improvements to the site whats the point of this site being up if there is no control

Take a look at the removal section. 100s of ads every day, spanning about 11 pages, yet i doubt there are even 30 different removal operators posting in the removal section. When you complain to admin, they say what they think you want to hear, and then do fuck all about it.

Gumtree RIP.

We do not remove ads without good reason, so if you think your ad was unfairly removed then email us and we will explain the situation. Remember to check the posting rules carefully before you post an ad. Also, when you pay for an ad you have to tick a box stating that you have read the posting rules before you are asked for payment.

We are experiencing a bit of a backlog at the moment, but rest assured we are doing our very best to get to everybody's email asap, so please be patient!

If I knew how gumtree was programmed/what it was programmed in, etc; I'd probably do my own version based upon issues raised in these and other forums... but having said that gumtree is getting the same issues that CraigsList got a few years back.

So the fact that I was looking around to see if loan sharks existed means what? I cant make a comment of any importance, or whatever I say means rubbish because at some point in my life I was looking for a loan? Please mate, go grow up and be a moderator like your meant to be and dont comment on stupid things that you clearly know nothing about, you obviously have way way too much time on your hands to moderate a kind of site like this. I agree, mate. This site sucks. I get abusive emails all the time from people making out to be Laura, my former bird. And no one has bothered to improve the system, or ban that pstitch prick.

My paid ad was removed for almost 3 days when I edited it about two weeks ago and I lost business (potentially around £300) and it wasn't the first time this happened. I complained and the ad was put back online, but I never got the 3 days free featured listing I deserved. Since this happened, I edited the ad and it got changed without any problems at all, which goes to show things are improving. I can't say that this site is crap, because I've actually benefited from advertising here and so have a few of my friends.

I feel I give respect where it is due. if someone comes on with a problem, I will try to help them as much as a unpaid volunteer moderator can.

Re loan shark? do you have any idea what they are and how much they charge? I do and I know the damage and harm they can cause, for someone to say they are actively looking for one is simply ridiculous.

If someone comes on cursing and swearing and threatening dire retribution, I give then very short shrift.

The internet is a big place, why not go somewhere you are happy?

If you feel the site is getting worse, vote with your feet. no-one is forcing you to stay. If, however, you feel gumtree has something to offer, stick with it.
