Bottled water, why do we buy it? does it taste any better than tap water? is it more benificial than tap water? we buy it because of false advertising its the greatest scam around and these companies are laughing at us. it tastes no different from tap water unless your tap is somewhere in the 3rd world! the uk water quality is of very high standard so there is really no need for bottled water. As for the benifits there are none, only that bottled water is slightly worse for you as there is no fluorine(we need that stuff for our teeth). did you know that the average bottle of water travels 16000km only 10% of bottles are recycled and thats out of 3billion bottles. The oil used to produce and deliver the bottles could run 17000 cars for a year. Finally the biggie....33000tonnes of CO2 are produced each year for one of the most useless products of the century. Dont forget your pocket aswell, its not like its bloody cheap!
SO NEXT TIME, USE THE TAP UNLESS YOUR IN A 3RD WORLD NATION! (NO DISRESPECT TO ANY 3RD WORLD NATION BUT SOME OF THE WATER IS A BIT IFFY) |

| funny this subject should come up... have a look at www.belu.org - i got a bottle of water from a corner shop in edinburgh made by them- the bottle is made of corn and decomposes in 8 weeks, all profits go to clean water projects in the 3rd world and the uk. so if you have to buy bottled, this is the best choice! |

Strawberry Evian is quite nice, but I don't buy it often. I don't think tap water is that tasty on its own.
At least with Evian, they are giving you the chance to get your nine glasses a day, because it's the taste people think of before anything. |

Depends where you live in the UK, I think. London's tap water is sewage recycled up to 7 times, apparently. I don't like the taste of the water in Lincolnshire cos it's hard - it furs up kettles and stuff.
My son gave me a Brita filter as part of my Xmas. It takes ALL the taste out of tap water.
Anyone remember the scandal of Perrier contaminated water |

I think it was actually- tapwater goes in and out of 7 people from the source of the thames to the estuary.
to say some types of water are actually recycled sewage shows a pretty poor understanding of chemistry... water is water and by this point in the earth's history all of it has been part of other compounds, such as sewage. Unless you're drinking out of the toilet bowl then its back to water. |
