| As a frequent gumtree user we all come accross some or the other kind of issues in the course of business. I would like to share my experience of search for accomodation. I looked at a property for rent with Troy Properties who are based in Ealing London and provided them with all the required as well as a holding deposit of £500. I had to wait for 3 weeks for them to let me know whether I could have the property or not. Actually the property was being advertised for a higher price and the agency was just waiting for a higher bidder at my cost. At the end there was a tenant who took it for a higher price and then I had to wait for another 3 weeks for my money as there accountant was not available and was remotely based and was not returning there calls I was also asked to call him up directly and ask him why he was'nt returning there calls and whether I could come to his office and get the money. After a lot of efforts and calls I some how got hold of my money which I had to go and collect and was'nt put into my account. I would suggest all fellow gumtree users to be cautious of such unprofessional letting agents. |

There are too many dishonest landlords and estate agents who are just out for your money and don't care about the tenant.
Don't get property from Victor Michael estsate agents in Leytonstone and Stratford where their branches are. They rented out a property that was full of mould. They painted over it and when I complained did nothing about it but took money out of my deposit for sending someone out to look. They knew the history of the place. Every single room had been repainted. The landlady should be ashamed of herself. Disgusting money grabber. |

| I'd mail them (via registered mail) an invoice for your time, and add interest (based on the Bank of England rate) on an offical looking sheet, and threaten them with legal action (just for the fin of it). |

| I think we should make an extra effort to make more people aware of agencies like Troy Properties because they are just there to take advantage of you. This way less people would have to go through what I had to. |

I think we should send more proof of appreciation to all agencies. Love letters like the one above. Imagine the flood of patience in the emergency units. |
