| Any suggestions?? Heard of flying to Ancona and taking a ferry over? Anyone booked cheap flights there or alternative ways to get there? |

Hi. From London direct flights to Splilt with EasyJet or WizzAir.com. Otherwise check fligts to Dubrovnik and a ferry back to Split or to Zagreb and then a bus ride down.
have fun

You can fly into Graz (Austria), and then catch the over night train as well |

can, but it's a lot longer and costly as you first need to get to Zagreb (through Slovenia) and then change trains or buses on to Split. I'd rather pay more and go direct. just so much simpler.

Yeah it is a bit longer, but a LOT cheaper, and you take the over night train so you sleep on it, and wake up in Split, there's no change either, just straight on through |

you sort it when you get there, there will be people offering apartments in their houses, really worth while, do a bit of haggling, they may say 300 kuna, then barter, if they aren't busy, just sit down within sight of them and wait, they'll come to you |

| there are plenty of direct options for flights that might be worth paying a bit more for to cut out all the hassle. you can even get there on BA for less than £150 depending on when you fly. always cheapest to fly early/midweek and avoid peak of summer. if you want to check plenty of different options for cheap flights in one go try http://www.dealchecker.co.uk who list the major operators. |

I got a cheap flight to Bari and then got a boat - worked out cheap as chips!
Loads of random people meet you off the boat for accomodation |
