Hi
I'm not entirely sure, but an an ex-fraud investigator, Western Union has a terrible reputation, as funds tranferred through them can disappear.
I think he can wire you the money and once it's cleared, make it bounce, so you have no goods (having posted them) and suddenly the money bounces. However I think sometimes they send you a cashier's cheque to prove he has the money and then makes up some excuse about Western Union taking a few days so he can cash the cheque etc... The cheque clear... you send the good... however... the bank systems only bounce a cheque a day or so later and the fraudsters are exploiting this loophole.
If you know of anyone who's had to send money to a UK bank, I might be able to help them lodge a formal complaint. |
