Hi,

It's still available for sale..It belongs to my husband, he is gone out of country with some business and i sell it for him....i can tell you is in excellent condition
i am based in lerwick, shetland right now...i can only ship it to you from here...

if you are interested let me know....

thanks,
Oana

This came to me from Gumtree, when asked to see each other face to face, i had another reply saying that 'Oana' was dead and died in a car crash. She placed another advert on Gumtree for a SLR camera after 2 hours and said that Oana was alive again, didn't give me her telephone number and wanted money transferred over by Western Union, asked why and she replied ' because i'm in USA'

Gumtree needs to find a way to reduce the number of fraudulent advert being placed on this site. Although Gumtree cannot be held responsible for people's innocent act of handing money to unscrupulous sellers but as its VERY, VERY easy to just load an advert and defraud innocent buyers of their money. I think is high time Gumtree has a mean to hold buyers or sellers' deposit or something of that nature that can be refunded should the item NOT get to the recipient, as long as the seller has a proof of postage/delivery!!

I'm very new to this site and I've been brought up to have a bit of trust in human kind and I was wrong in trusting an Animals dressed as human!...I've been scammed through this website and a few other people I have spoken to have also been scammer and vowed NEVER to return to this site. In fact, I posted an advert warning other innocent buyers/seller not to be caught in a similar situation. To my advert, I received an Unbelievable amount of emails from others who have been scammed. And when I went to the police and told them what happened to me, the first website mentioned or queried was; was it via Gumtree?

Apparently, Gumtree is notorious for NOT taking action and is a very easy way for fraudster to make quick box or their daily living/earnings. The same person that scammed me advertises EVERYDAY and Nothing, I mean Nothing is done to investigate him and he is allowed to GET Away with it!!

Something needs to be done. I know Gumtree stays trade face to face only but for an Eighteen year- old with less experience of the world of fraudsters, I’ve certainly learnt NOT to trust.

By the way, the scammers name is Asif Jawed from Birmingham area. But he advertises in London and Many other Areas too!
His accout details are: HSBC, sort code: 30-97-76. Acc no:126 755 68.

But he has MANY accout numbers, differnt names and A LOT of Pay As You Go mobile number that he uses to place his advert daily. His a Full-time Fraudster!!

That’s my story!

I am currently being scammed by sherinemorgan@ymail.com

i am selling a wireless racing wheel for xbox 360, and she contacted me asking if it is still available, to which i replied it it, and then she sent me the following message:

HI,I'M really glad reading back from you,i would have come to your destination to get the item myself, but I'm a bit far away from you,so i would really appreciate if you can kindly post this item for me,cause I'm sending it to someone in west Africa(Nigeria),via royal mail signed for,I'm gonna offer you 70pounds for postage, cause i want a fast delivery,I will do this transaction only through pay pal in order to have a safe transaction for both of us.I am ready pay you for the item and the postage offer. So if accepted you can send me the total cost and your full name and e-mail address on PayPal,or you can send me money request from PayPal.
Regards,
Sherine.

Now i am wondering what use it would be (even for the laugh) to send this scammer a paypal money request? i want to see if they actually attempt to send me money before i tell them where to jump!

i will take any other ideas for how to screw her over too!! i want one back on scammers for all that have ben scammed!!!

Thanks all

PostPosted: Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:10 pm    Post subject: Ndaga Finge Spencer Reply with quote

My girlfriend has just been scammed by a guy in Nigeria called Ndaga Finge Spencer. She believed she'd purchased a Maltese Puppy and that they were couriering her down. They needed the payment of £200 to the couriers head office in (you guessed it) Cameroon. She paid the money and it was a waiting game.We got a phone call saying the puppy had to be delivered the next day as it was a bank holiday. Next morning we received an email asking for a 'refundable pet insurance' of 640 pounds!!!

I phoned him and had a go at him and told him i was gonna come and collect the puppy myself (leading him on) then asked where he wanted the money sent to. Surprise surprise, CAMEROON! so, after leaving him with something to think about (ahem) i hung up on him. I will be posting his phone numbers, email addresses and websites shortly for all to keep an eye on.

PostPosted: Sun Apr 26, 2009 12:30 pm    Post subject: scammer at work on Gumtree be warned Reply with quote

Mail sent to me about a car for sale on Gumtree please warn others, I wasnt caught out but someone could be !!!!

Hello ,
Thank you for your reply. As I allready explained , I live in USA and I will go to Liverpool only for this deal. My car is not far from airport, but if you don't know Liverpool as well, we can meet at airport!(LVP)
I could meet you there this Saturday, if that is ok for you too, but I have to be sure that you are serious, because I have a long way ...from USA to UK .
So here are my conditions:
I won't ask for any money in advance, but you must reserve the car and I will come only if you are decided to buy it .And as a warranty that you really want to buy the car and that you have the money (in cash) for the car, I require that you arrange a payed deposit on your name , for the price of the car ( 3700 euro). Regarding the deposit, there is a service very fast and easy to use, named Western Union. It is used for sending cash money . All that you have to do is to ask a friend or family to go to Western Union with the cash and to send it to Liverpool, to your name as receiver.
Your friend will be the sender and you will be the receiver in Liverpool.
(I ask you to do this because I want to be 100 % sure that you will be there and you will be ready to buy it because last week I went to Liverpool for nothing. A man from Dublin told me that he wants to meet me and buy it , so I went to Liverpool, but he never came and never answered to my emails .)
After you make the transfer, I want you to send me an email with the scan of the receipt , so I can check with Western Union and if the transfer is ok, I will come to Liverpool to close the deal.
You will verify the documents and test the car and we will make the sale documents. Then we will go to a Western Union office, you will take the money and pay me.
PS: I told you that someone else must be the sender, not you, because some Western Union offices do not give you the money if the receiver is also sender.
Regarding the transfer fees, you will deduce them from the total amount,So that you won't pay nothing more ,just the price that we agreed ( for example 3600 euro+ fees 100 euro= 3700).
This transfer is also good for you because you avoid the risk of a traveling with the money in pocket.

Let me know if this is OK with you as soon as possible , let me know if I should reserve the car for you.
PS: Only my father was Polish! I have Polish name..

Thank you,
Sebastian Kula

Good day to you and thanks for getting back to me .I also want to
appreciate the fact that you personally understood why i asked all
those questions.I was just doing this because i wanted be assured
that any of my babies get into a good home which would be able to
spoil the rotten with much love and care and also i have read and
heard a lot on how people do maltreat pets and i cannot imagine
that people do this to animals and such loving and darling
creatures which God took time to create. But after reading from you
once more i am confident that you would take proper care of this
baby very well for me.Like i said,i work with the orthodox baptist missionaries group in Belfast here is my number 07031850912 if you are willing to have this baby then all you would have to do is let me know so that i could take care of the change of ownership papers and you the delivery to you to the delivery agency and according to them it would cost you £180 this money you are to pay to them and not to me.they also told me that after i have place the baby with them they would contact you through mail and phone call to let you know that the baby is with them, for you to confirm your address details, how to do the payment to them and also they would provide you with a tracking code to let you know that the baby is with them .So if you are comfortable with this then all you would have to do is get back to me with your full home address details, full names and phone number so that i could place this baby with the delivery agency and you pay for
the delivery
to you.But if you are not comfortable with the fact that i am far from you i can understand and just let me know so ,so that i could give the baby to any other potential family ..Below are some of its hobbies;
Playing tug-of-war.
Favorite Toy is a Ball,
Hippo...Anything to play
tug-of-war with.
Favorite Walk: Around the block or
just anywhere
you can catch fun.they enjoy playing very
much with other doggies, really a great
companion.
Best Tricks: Rollover,pray,bow,
high-five, shake,
turn around, down,lie-down,dance, play
Thanks

So hes a reverand as he has said in a first email where i knew straight away he was another pond life scammer so i am having a little fun getting his hopes up that i am falling for it haha! although i wish it wasnt a scam as i am looking for a staffy puppy for cheap or free and cant find one!! Sad i will send his reply as i have asked him if i could pick the puppy up rather than pay "delivery" for the puppy

the site looks so genuine and the prices r ok therefore i bought 1 fone, i went for the cheapest one for 14.99 just to check if they r genuine
paid the money with credit card and i got a reciept and reference num in a mail and the fone was supposed to be delivered within 10 days

But i was for some reason still had doubts and i called the credit card provider and guess what??? 69 quid has been deducted by NOCHEX. the name which is not mentioned on the website. I also called the number on the website and surprise the called went to phones4u they r shocked that their num is mentioned on the website and said they have nothing to do with the site.

pls advice who shall i complain to take appropriate action and catch the culprits.

thanks

you need to send an email to notchex and the fone place you bought it from stating you are aware they have taken money from your account and you want them to remove your bank details (which they wont) then you need to go to your bank and ask them to put you in touch with people who can help you with the companys who are taking money from you when you contacted them and told them to stop you will get your money back and they will be investigated your bank can tell you the name of the company you will contact to help you get the money back i did it with lloyds tsb and got my money back from a company but forgot the name of the organisation but any bank you are with will definatly help you just go in and ask to speak to an advisor

we have just had this happen to us what happend was i put an add up for a trials bike within hrs of putting the add on we had an email asking for more pics so we sent them

he then replied and asked if he could send a cheque and once it had cleared he would arrange pick up as it was being shipped to italy for his sons birthday

the cheque came for triple the amount with a not saying shipping fee what he wanted us to do was cash the cheque and then send a cheque with the left over money to some one else who was meant to be the shipping agent

i was very wairy so we took the cheque to the bank to get it checked he immediatly confiscated the cheque

and said it was worth nothing and there were alot of scams like this going around where they are getting youto cash the cheque and you are left
out of pocket by thousands

Don't accept PayPal, its become the latest choice of the scammer, I sold a new phone using paypal, and the guy said it was damaged, so returned a incomplete damaged faulty model phone, which was not what i had posted out - I got no help from paypal

PayPal operates like a bank, but does NOT conform to the banking terms and conditions that proper banks conform to, Paypal is the same company as ebay and they are very elusive if you need to visit them, they have appeared on BBC watchdog on more than one occasion regarding fraud, but they feel they are above the law.

If you want to sell something take cash only, if your a buyer don't hand over any money until you see the goods working.

Can PayPal hold my money with no explanation? The answer is YES.
Can PayPal freeze my account for no reason? The answer is YES.
Can PayPal take money out of my account without my knowledge?
The answer is YES.
