The best thing gumtree can do is have a helpline number or contact centre!
I have had my ad's repeatedly suspended/deleted from the website - even though they comply fully with the posting rules/t&C's.
I have not been able to get one response to cries of help from gumtree admin, even after 17 emails, across 3 days!
I have paid for a featured ad - that cost me £5.95 with the money debited instantly - i am not etting my monies worth - i want a refund! |

My advice to people who ring us by mistake is to contact their local police as eventually gumtree.com may be forced to react professionally or get closed down. We regularly get calls from the police themselves who are also heartily fed up with gumtree.com but no better at sorting out a phone number for them than the rest of us, which is a bit worrying.....!

| When you report an ad sometimes it says "this ad has been deleted". But the ad is not deleted at all - hours after it says it has been deleted. What is going on? |

I wish I could believe it when you say 'you speak, we listen' but I have been trying all manner of means to get you to listen. I am a professional masseur and each day you oblige me to share my ads with those advertising sex. You say photos are not allowed yet each day I see the same ads with photos of the same semi-nude women. Why do you not take some trouble to monitor this site. Can it be anything to do with the fact that you want their money? |

It might interest readers to know that as Gumtree 4x4, the nearest equivalent to gumtree.com in the phone directories, we are fed up with getting their upset customers and the police calling us instead of realising we are nothing to do with the website! Gumtree.com ignore us, never thank us if we politely refer people to their website and totally refuse to make it obvious that they have no phone contact point because they do not want potential customers to realise how little they care and how slow and unhelpful they are until after they have extracted their money........... We are heartily fed up with the number of calls we get and now tell people to ring the police and/or advertise elsewhere!
Come on someone at gumtree.com HQ - prove me wrong, get in touch, put a phone number on the website and start to show you actually care a bit! |

| It is expensive to run a call centre and this is a free site, and it is very time consuming to answer individual queries. What I would like to see is the feedback drawn into broad categories, and feedback given say monthly. That could be feasible. |

I think Gumtree should be limited to uk IP's. Although im sure scammers may bypass the system im also sure it would cut down the amount of scammers on here by a significant amount.
Also maybe a helpline would be an improvement but to be honest every time i have emailed, i have received a reply the same day and thats good enough for me.

comment from a landlord site
Gumtree [Visit site]
Urgh, is all i can say, this is a horrible looking site, it looks like a badly home made directory site. It is free but then it would have to be. Searching is a nightmare you end up round in circles, c'mon guys charge a bit of money and make a decent job of the site! There is a fair bit on this site but it is hard work on the eyes, it only gets a star because it's free! |

| if the moderators actually checked the adds more often an took action...reported add hours ago and its still going (illegal tobacco/cigarettes/dundee) then the site would be better. |

| hello, a suggestion for the reply email service on the job reply forms: when the advertiser chooses not to show email. you can only attach one file to the reply message. could GUMTREE make it more than just one. I tried to attach a copy of my CV and a photo and i could only do one. cheers |

Please could you let me know why London jobs section has
Job Training & Open Days
Student & Graduate
Voluntary Work
and I believe a Media related section.
and Cardiff does not possess the same options on its home page please?
I would like to see these options installed if possible as I would like to use these areas. I believe they are also needed in Cardiff Gumtree. Thank you. |

| Why oh Why have you changed the way ads are viewed. The new way today (12-5-09) is terrible. You now have to keep checking if you have scrolled down to yesterdays ads. Not much use when you use it everyday to look for things. Please bring back the old way. |

for gods sake stop changing things!!!!!!!!!!
I just get used to your new layout annd you changed it again stop fixing things that are not broken, the new way of listing the ads looks terrible and whats more you cant tell where one day ends and another begins meaning its not so easy to quickly glance through things.
Why do you not use your time to weed out all the spammers instead of wasting time changing the layout over and over, this site is being spoiled it used to be a simple user friendly community sight now its commercialised money grabbing nonsense with more spammers than genuine ads |
