I am selling my scooter on gumtree at the moment and have received an email from a "weird potential buyer" today. She kept asking for my paypal account and home address. Later on, my partner believes that she is a scammer. But we are not quite sure how this paypal method be used for scamming. Anyone knows about this?

As she seems like she doesn't know what is she buying, my partner suspected she is a scammer and noticed there was a post abt her on gumtree abt a berlin rental place. So he added her on msn -------------------------------------------------------

it usually goes
you will get an email supposedly from paypal saying they have the money and will release it when you send proof that you have sent the goods.

you send the goods and email the proof and if they are good you will get another email saying thrers a tax to pay before you can get the money

ignore them
