I wonder if a graphic designer living in London can make his living by doing only single (7" or 12", vinyl) covers? How much one earns for one of these? Anyone?

It's a bit of a niche market.
I wonder if the designers that do only this sort of work are already well established and well regarded in their field?

montyzuma, gig posters and book covers also interest me. Book covers are the tougher ones, extremely narrow market. Beside teh fact you frequently have to read awful literacy, the idea of high quality graphics frequently is a bit too serious to me... Pop industry (records, gigs) allow you to have lots more fun when doing the pieces. But I have no minimum idea of how much to expect earning from a 7 cover, a gig poster etc.

it depends, I used to pay approx £100 for a poster but now I don't need to spend more then £50. You'll need to find many clients to be really busy or a few rich ones Wink

spend max 30% of your time on designing anything and 70% on marketing your service
