There is a moderator in the Jobs forum who is being personally insulting to me.

I have posted with the intention of helping people AVOID MLM scams but montyzuma has got it into his sad little head that I am the scammer and the entire direct selling industry is a gigantic con game.

Millions of adults worldwide make good part time and full time incomes from perfectly legitimate products and services.

Yes, of course there are bad apples in the industry, and they need cleaning out. I'm not one of them, and I would very much like to improve the image of network marketing especially in the UK.

I have always posted with the very best of intentions but my personal ethics have been repeatedly held up to ridicule and contempt.

I have written to Gumtree support but they have not replied.

I also do mystery shopping and online surveys and I posted over the weekend about a scam ad - a PAID one - that asked people to register and pay to find work of this kind - totally unnecessary - NEVER pay someone to find you work.

Once again I was attacked by montyzuma who hadn't even bothered to read the post properly. I wasn't ADVERTISING anything, there was no gain whatever in it for me, I was just giving some honest and genuine guidance.

Would you please remind this moderator that his job on the forum is to ensure that the spirit of the rules is adhered to, not to be personally offensive, persistently negative or to bore us all with his ill-informed opinions.

Thank you

Hi Jenny

Please show where i have been insulting you personally

you on the other hand

"Montyzuma I see your name on a host of posts here and some of your comments about network marketing frankly suggest you are talking out of your backside and have no experience of this industry whatever."

"What a sad person you are montyzuma"

"Do you believe everything you read on Wikipedia? If you do, anything you say here has minimal credibility. "

"Keep on trotting out your inaccurate and biased links, there are enough success stories to counter them a thousand times. I am ending this conversation, because I have no time to waste on someone who is so persistently negative, destructively critical and cynical. "

"Thankyou to Gumboil for at least trying to come back at this stupid and prejudiced moderator. He isn't doing himself any favours. "

"Even if you came on bended knees and begged to join one of my businesses I wouldn't have you on any of my teams. I have no time for drongoes."

montyzuma

As I said in my complaint, you have repeatedly and pointedly questioned and insulted my personal ethics and intentions.

You have admitted on several occasions that you have no personal experience of network marketing yet you pontificate about it as if you did.

Someone who does that, exposes himself to ridicule and contempt and you deserve every word I have said about you.

You are seriously neglecting your role as moderator to provide us with your opinions. That was pointed out by another contributor.

You don't even bother to read posts properly before accusing people of advertising.

Moderators should remain impartial especially on subjects they are not qualified to talk about.

jonin60seconds

thank you for your intervention

perhaps you could state here what YOUR view of the moderator's role is.

IMO montyzuma is perfectly entitled to his OPINION of the network marketing business, but if he wants to express it, he should be doing so as a private contributor and not a moderator, otherwise Gumtreee could be held liable for allowing him to libel a person or a business or to allow him to encourage others to do so.

As a moderator, he should NOT in ANY circumstances be allowed repeatedly to question and insult my intentions and ethics when I have made my position perfectly clear.

IMO on the subject of network marketing he has displayed the kind of uninformed bias that does Gumtree no favours.

As he is representing your company on these forums, I feel that some kind of apology is in order for the damage he has attempted to do to my personal reputation and to my businesses.

So far I have only posted free ads, however I am a potential CUSTOMER for your paid services as well as a contributor to these forums and as such, I feel entitled to some respect from your representatives.

Hey, I have checked with the team and I'm afraid that we don't allow multi-level marketing job ads on Gumtree. We also don't allow ads for work from home businesses or ads for training courses in the jobs category.

You can read more about our posting rules here. http://portsmouth.gumtree.com/help/posting_rules#item61 The community has told us repeatedly that they do not want to see these types of ads on Gumtree. I am sure that your opportunities are completely legitimate and apologise if you feel your services have been unfairly treated in the forums.

But, they are not suitable for Gumtree. We wish you luck posting your ads elsewhere!

montyzuma has a sense of humour , im sure his/her quick wit was not meant in an offensive way .

Jon has asked yopu twice to stop and has now pointed out that the adds you are posting are against gumtrees rules . Please always read the posting rules before posting adds ... it helps avoid this kind of thing happening in the future .

Matter closed .

I can tell you that this matter is ANYTHING but closed.

montyzuma's posts were not humourous at all. They were deliberately insulting and negative and continued despite a request to cease and desist.

You decline to say what you regard as the role of a moderator.

Gumtree is heaving with ads for all kinds of network marketing opportunities - if you accept money for such ads, that implies that you don't care if they break your own rules. Also, at least one of the ads had been online for over 3 weeks, once again implying acceptance regardless of the rule. At least be consistent. Remove the rule or remove ALL the ads paid and unpaid.

The email sent to me saying my ads had been removed alleged that what I was advertising could be construed as pyramid selling. To avoid legal action from myself and from the companies I represent, I strongly suggest you remove this wording.

I am still waiting for my apology in writing from montyzuma.

Pyramid scamming urgh i mean selling should be removed 100% .

It is a scam that involves those at the top making a fortune and the rest of the poor buggers that fall for it lose their money . And the people at the top of the pyramid always just so happen to be the people that create it ...

If you see an add posted that you feel breaks Gumtrees rules then report it , click on the add and in the right corner is a button titled 'report add' , just click that and give a brief description of why the add needs removing .

Rather than post on the forum about your add being removed and why it happened you seem to of instead tried to get Monty removed as a mod . He has asked you to post the comments he/she made that you found offensive and you are yet to post such comments .

The role of a forum mod is to keep the forum running smooth , to remove anything that should not be posted here and to answer any questions or problems that Gumtrees users post on here .

A mod should not be removed or punished for having a quick wit or opinions . If he/she was a bad mod that was trying to hide his/her wrong doing then this thread would of been quickly deleted .

Maybe you could explain in detail about your company and the add you posted so the mod team has a greater understanding of what you are offering , maybe just the way the add was worded made it sound like something else ? .

Hi jennysue19

The point is simple: we do not allow MLM / network / pyramid schemes on Gumtree, therefore you cannot advertise your here. Those are the rules. We have nothing against the honest schemes, its just that the community would prefer not to have them. If you think there are other such ads on the site, you can report them to us and we will take them down.

Your insistence on arguing (trolling as it is called on a forum), is against forum rules. I have banned people for this so in order to stay consistent, this is a first and last warning. I suggest you drop the issue and try to find somewhere else to advertise your business

You are spot on Pika .

As Jenny said in her 1st post ..

Quote:

The link she is offering wants you TO PAY $330 .

She does not follow her own advice , but maybe the rules should be different for her ? No one may post pyramid schemes apart from her ?

Case closed !

I have had considerable recent experience of the way that admin on Gumtree persistently trash the MLM/networking/direct sales industry, but telling lies and spreading misinformation in this way is inexcusable.

Most of them admit that they have no personal experience of the industry yet see fit to condemn everything out of hand.

Let's get the facts straight please. The £330 to start a distributorship with MXI/Xocai is mostly the cost of the initial PRODUCT purchase.

That's right - you are BUYING product!. Only a small proportion of that £330 goes towards the administration of setting you up as a distributor and providing you with a website.

It is NOT as implied here, a charge to 'find you work'. YOU will have to go out and find distributors, it is NOT done for you!

You will need the chocolate as samples to start your business, to sell retail, and of course for your own personal consumption. You will also be able to claim it as tax-deductable samples at a later date, and also the admin charges.

JennySue , a company looking to come to the UK would get 1 distributor that would look to get the product put in stores like Tesco and Asda .

What happens if 1000 people from Norfolk all sign upp , we all get 1 box of chocolate each for are £330 lol and Norfolk has 1000 distributors with 1 box of chocolate each .

All that chocolate company is , is a pyramid scheme that is using the chocolate as smoke and mirrors . If you google cadburys it gives results in which you can buy the chocolate , if you google the company you mention it just shows 1000's of results of desperate people trying to get you to join up as distributors so they earn some money back . The whole website for hat company is all about getting distributors and not selling the product , i could see nothing on the site that allows me to buy a bar of this "healthy" chocolate , why would a company that claims to sell chocolate not want to see to me ? Is it coz i is white ?? What ??

If this is not a pyramid sceme why are you trying to get people to join up ? Surely you should be making money selling chocolate , yes ???? .

It is time to wake up Jeny and to smell the coffee . You are offering a pyramid scheme in which the people who set it up will make millions .

I liked the add by the doctor on the website though , employed by the chocolate company hardly makes him a independant expert lmao and his degree in hospital administration hardly makes him a medical expert .

Are you interested in buying a breeding pair of white tigers Jenny ? If you send me £3000 cash i will get them delivered to you my dear xxx
