I think Spain should be the standout favourites, but I like the chances of England and Argentina as well. Perennial powerhouses Germany have to be included as well. Current champions Italy should be strong as well, but probably a bit too old.

Cameroon and Nigeria have to be respected, as they'll play on home territory (if they qualify), and have had plenty of world cup experience, unlike the Ivory Coast, Sth Africa and Ghana. Their sides have a good blend of youth and experience as well, and are well coached.

I'm going to stick with Cameroon to qualify, and win the world cup though. What does everyone else think?

Also, who will win the golden boot? I'll say Samuel Eto'o.

I was thinking Spain - but they do have a habit of bottling it in the big tournaments (with the exception of last year's Euros).

Then I watched Russia Germany online at www.omnisport.tv and I remembered you can never write the Germans off. They just seem to have that big tournament mentality - and they've got some great players who've been together a while now. Good bet at least for the semis.

There's a load of the final qualifying matches on omnisport.tv tonight - I'm going for Portugal v Malta. Should be a shoo in for Portugal even without Ronaldo.
