You do not mention personal experience.
In the USA, it is estimated that every third adult is engaged in some kind of network marketing, either full time or alongside a conventional job.
This I find a very strange statement........... why would so many people have a second job.
All this is adding to the US economy in a real and tangible way and could do the same here, if people did not keep talking about MLM in a negative, cynical and uninformed way.
Isn't the US ecomnomy part the reason for the Credit Crunch in this country???? If everyone lived within their means surely there wouldn't be a need for second incomes??? Am I being thick here or something???
Yes, of course I want people to come into my businesses, but more importantly I want to help them avoid the scams AND to become economically active which will help the whole country. I also want to ensure that they understand what they need to do to be successful.
What are your businesses????
There are thousands of products and services out there, something for everyone.
One of the reasons that many people fail in MLM is that not all companies impress on their distributors that they are responsible for training their teams AND provide good training.
And........... they are scammed/ripped off/sold a dream to start with.....
If you have a bad sponsor/upline who just dumps you as soon as they have signed you up, of course your experience is likely to be negative and unsuccessful. Exactly the same would happen in any other job. How would you feel about a manager or colleagues who didn't train you then moaned that you weren't performing.
Basically montyzuma, the only people you seem to have spoken to is the ones who have had a poor experience of the MLM industry and you have allowed it to colour your opinion in an unfair and unjustified way. |
Why is there 99 bad experiences from MLM people compared to 1 good experience??? |
Just wondered if you could answer me??? |

Reson I ask is, that, MANY people make a very good income from direct sales.
I think you've been stung in some way, care to elaborate? |
Hi Gum
Is there two sides to direct sales???
Personally I wouldn't call MLM direct sales myself as the company turnover always seems to include the starter packs. EG Kleeneze - £175 to join??? You can never work out what is sales & what is the amount of money being taken from honest people looking to earn a bit of cash
I've been trying to work out what Kleenezes sales are but no one can work out exactly as they are part of the findel group out. Would of though this should be easy to find out.
Any ideas????

Well, I call it direct sales because you are selling directly to the end user, without any retail premises i.e.shop and it's a personal contact thing.
The way to establish whether you're making any money or not, is to keep accounts! Sales minus expenditure equals profit (or loss). You probably do this so not being patronising here! Just that a lot of people who join Kleeneze, aren't made aware of this.
I know that Findel have an assortment of different arms to their overall business. If the cataloguing arm isn't working for you, well, don't do it.
At the moment, I'm working with a company where the re investment is minimal. I don't have to keep buying replacement catalogues etc so, the only real outlay is my time. There is no stock, money to handle and collect and no repeat business required. Once I have a customer, that's the only time I need to see them and I get paid every month, regularly on the basis of my customers. The effort to reward ratio is great! Takes about an hour to get a customer. So, it's a whole lot less time and energy consuming and I get paid every month, for work I've done in the past.
I'm a big fan of network marketing/direct sales, call it what you will and I cut my teeth with Kleeneze.
It was the right business model but the wrong vehicle for me, there are easier ways. |

hi gumboil thanks again for your input
your are calling it direct sales which is fine
you can call it what you wish
does the company involve a mlm system within its structure?
or do you work directly between the consumer and the company?
and there is no incentive to recruit others in a mlm type of way?
i have no particular axe to grind
it works for you great
it is only a conversation

Hi Monty,
It is an industry of many names!
There is a networking structure available for those who want to follow that path but it's not mandatory nor is there any pressure to go down that path. It's entirely down to the individual's decision. So laid back, it's practically vertical. As an organisation, individuals are left to make their own decisions, which is as it should be. If anyone chooses to take the team building route, there are people to help them. If you don't want to do that, that's ok too. Whatever floats your boat or suits you.
There are obvious additional monetary benefits from team building. The people I work with, work with integrity and don't do 'vampire recruiting' (i.e. constant new blood) they have discernment and act with integrity. They only recruit the people who are a) not desperate for anything! b) have been told and understand that they will have to work hard for a couple of years to see a good return, (like most businesses) not in a couple of weeks/months, c) are motivated and self reliant and are receptive to teaching and a different way of earning money.
There are always ways of earning money outside the traditional job route but not all people are open minded enough to see this. I feel this is a failure on our educational system. But, heh, that's just my opnion! I know loads of people who make a very good income from various means outside the 9-5 norm. |

Hi Monty,
I don't know about 'sullying' but I've witnessed some pretty horrible behaviour, although I wouldn't condem the entire industry because of this, just the individuals concerned. This wasn't in the company I'm currently involved with btw! I have to say, the company I'm now with is fantastic and the people are amazing.
MLM, network marketing, referral marketing, direct sales........no doubt other titles will evolve.
All I know is that I'm fast approaching financial peace and helping other people to achieve the same. I call that great!
Have removed the website address from my sig, sorry, I'd forgotten it was on there! |

Hi Gum
Thanks for the reply again
Like you I tried Kleeneze & as far as I'm concerned 99.9% of them are not worth talking to, no straight answers & the day that they are out of the business world the UK will be a better place.
Not disputing the MLM vehicle at all so.......... interested in what your doing??? Any chance you can send me some info or point me in the right direction???

Rather not post on an open forum as no doubt, I will be accused of spamming or some such thing! |

| I nearly joined Amway once, until the guy doing the presentation stayed at my home for two hours and wouldn't leave. I do buy from the kleeneze catalogue though. |
