Hi,
I am an Australian citizen currently in Switzerland considering working in the UK. Am I able to apply for jobs from outside the UK which, if I were successful, would sponsor a work visa, or do I have to apply for some sort of permit before applying for jobs in the UK? I am a postdoctoral scientist and am considering forensic science positions.
Cheers

Couple of problems:
Unemployment is at 2.5 million, a new record of sorts
I can't think of anyone who'd employ you without seeing you. You'll have to be here for interviews. If applying for jobs, apply from the UK
Work will sponsor your visa though. That's if you manage to find work |

| it depends entirely on what skills you have. Why take someone from abroad when you got 2.5 million people available here. |

| the gov are also making it harder for those outside of the EU to work here as they've introduced a points system. |
