Hi!
I have recently packed in my job to embark on a PhD and am looking for some ways to supplement my modest studentship.
I have been looking into the possibility of running a market stall occasionally , the cost during the week is not too high-about £15 at Camden.
Is anyone else out there interested?? I was thinking along the lines of a gift type stall with soaps etc but am open to ideas!
Get back to me if this sounds like your thing |

Hi,
my sisters and mum did markets for years. We did Camden and it is hard work. I am not trying to put you off, just letting you know that it is hard work and entails quite a bit of work load. The hours are harsh, the weather is harsh and the lack of money with the stiff competition is also harsh. HOWEVER, it is fun as hell, you meet lots of ppl and you get a feeling of self sufficiency. If your products are good and competitive then you are onto a winner.
Go visit lots of markets, take notes of what is available and what you feel is needed. How many ppl visit daily weekly, are they tourists or locals, what about winter time etc.
Good luck |
