hi!
need your help and advice pls
i will be going se asia dec and jan - so 2 months
was thinking of flying in and out of bankgok as it easiest and cheapest
if i have time i would like to go overland from bangkok to loas, then vietnam down through cambodia and back upto bangkok
was thinking of getting there and arranging it as i go...don't mind possibly taking an internal flight ot two (if not too expensive) if i need to
my question - is it doable or am i overstretching myself?...dont want to be rushing around like a crazy
p.s. if anyone is interested in joining for some of the trip - why not..get in touch
thanks! |

it's doable. i was running the exact trip you mentioned last year for a tour company. we did it in 3 weeks, but took a lot of flights. without flights 2 months is enough, providing you don't mind taking the odd overnight bus/train and are not gonna dawdle.
have fun. |

You could get a flight from Bangkok to Vietnam and work yourself back via Cambodia and Laos.
I have to be honest though, there isn't much in Laos, and unless your going to hug the beaches/Islands in Cambodia there's only Phnom Penh and Seam Reap to visit.
Either way take this bit of advice, do not cross the border going from Thailand into Cambodia at Poipet, do it the other way round, go into Thailand from Cambodia, you can get a toyota from Siem Reap that'll take you all the way for $20, assuming that your going to Ankor Wot!
In answer to your question if 2 months is enough, it's more than enough even just by land. |

| I did the trip your talking about over 9 weeks, we had plenty of time to fit everything we wanted to do in! ...and that was with a broken ankle! Took a few flights though, one from Vientiane to Siem reap then one from phnom penh back to Bangkok.... flights were only around £40 (if that) each though. |
