Alright I understand allot of people purchasing items on Gumtree, will be paying online via methods such ass PayPal,Western union and Bank Transfer.
But there are a few ways to spot a scammer from someone who is legit,
If someone supplies you a address, but its too far a distance to collect, and they are eager to post, and accept methods online here is what to do-
-First Ask for full address, and landline number(straight away if your told they haven't one installed then don't move on with the trade, because landlines can be tracked and its likely a scammer)
Secondly if they are eager to use postal service, tell them that you have a relative or a friend who can pay and collect the item from the address.
If its a scammer you will most likely be told a excuse such as its sold, I'm not home this week or some old rubbish. Or they will just stop contact with you.
Just a little help, I've come across alot of these idiots, who want to scam peoples hard earned cash.
Also don't trade |
