Hi
I've been looking for a job and saw the stuff on tv about the avon lady who has made 1/4 of a million. Has anyone made anything from it?
Also I have found this zap by admin/ has anyone signed up?
Thanks

The average Avon rep earns very little if anything at all.
You have to pay for books, order forms & bank your own money
They place orders every 3 weeks, dont earn any commision until it reaches a certain level.
The average Avon rep earns money & then spends it on the goods themselves
They did start to go down the MLM route but haven't heard anything really about it since
Having said that at least they dount preach to you that you'll be financiallly secure from joining Avon
Regards

party plan cosmetics
I KNEW A GIRL WHO DID THIS once
paid for all their courses which supposedly
meant you could get a job anywhere
bored the **** off her friends/aquaintences to have a party
and when the complany folded her qualifications werent worth the paper they were written on
anther worked her way up to management level with tupperware
had a 1/2 share in a car with them woop de doo at the expence of boring everyone who knew her, rigid as all she would talk about was tupperware.
both relied on recruiting others to flog more stuff too
i used to cringe when my ex was goign to yet another party plan
why not just get a bottel of wine and go for a night at someones house |

The order forums are free - Crikey I didn't know Avon used charge to charge you to use the internet as well
Crikey sounds like KZ who charge you to order goods as well via there ordering system.
Tell me, do Avon still use couriers who every now & again would lose your returns meaning you still would have to pay for the goods before you got your next delivery.............
Go on......... I cant wait for this one............

Hi Danielle,
I use to do avon and I use to do betterware. Avon wasn't too bad, betterware I didn't like. I am now doing something much better. I started in September and my earnings was £355 for 15 hours work (i.e. £24 ph). |

| Who in their right mind would waste money on Avon stuff in the current climate? if a friend needed money that badly, surely most people would lend them some (if they had it to lend!), if only to avoid having their ears chewed off and being sold to every time they spoke to each other?!?!.... |

No.....Arsene doesn't shop on the high street.....he figures making his own gear is a lot cheaper, and makes a lot more sense because he can make it the way he wants and believes it should be made Occasionally he'll shop though, but will not pay a penny over the odds! |

Or should i call it like it is sarcasm! Anyhow statistics speak for itself. Just giving a little advise to those who are really serious about earning some extra income since I have been in those fields.
Avon sells lovely products, their perfumes and roll ons last unlike some products that lose their fragrance very quickly.
However the work you have to put in to earn a little, to me, is not worth it. They should be paid more. |

Hi Treaty
Sorry for the sarcasm
I think that Avon are a legitimate company being the biggest in the direct sales world.
The average rep earns nothing, but they are never sold a dream in my eyes pretty honest & ethical in this day & age
I know they started down the MLM way but I haven't heard anything since
In my opinion for those who want/need a second income is........get a job & live within your means.
People that predominately earn £24 per hour/near on £50K per year are sub/well educated/trained people in full time work
Just my opinion though

Lovely speaking to you.
I don't understand what you mean about sold a dream.
With regards to the education/training, I do agree with you. Everybody in every field of work/career that they take up needs to be educated in their area of expertise. Doctors, nurses, teachers, care assistant need to be trained. Likewise a sales representative, distributor, marketer. Otherwise if they were to be asked questions about their goods or service, what would their response be?
With regards to full time work, my advice to anyone is to find something that they are passionate about and drive all their effort into it, full time. The effort will pay off.
But what is living within ones means? Staying in a poverty stricken situation and saying that is the means? Or working two, three, four jobs a month and still can't see two ends meeting? I think the means is what you make it.
Anyway nice, talking to you John. |
