I have just had my ad removed and I am not happy with the explanation or understand why. I would someone to explain to me what I did wrong and put the ad up again so I can rent my flat asap. Since when is Hove not part of Brighton (& Hove City)

I have searched the website to find some contact details and maybe I am being blind but I canīt find anything to help.

I would say this a big problem with a site such as this. Why is it you donīt want people to communicate with you!

If you want to contact someone about something that doesn't relate to an ad. How do you do it?

It's crazy there is no contact email facility.

I want to get some statistics about Gumtree's (local) web traffic volumes so I can promote Gumtree advertising to my clients.

Where can I get this info?

They're absolutely useless. Sorry to be so blunt gumtree, but it's true.

It appears there is no sort of customer services available, even if you are paying for it!!!!

My company pays to place ads on gumtree, and when at one branch we could not get the images to show on the adverts, it took TWO WEEKS to get a response - which consisted of 'contact your IT provider'. Very useful, gumtree. What on earth are we paying you for?

Fair to say that branch no longer pays gumtree and no longer uses their services. The annual charge was ridiculous anyway for this kind of site, but to then have such awful customer service, well - it was just a slap in the face. We're done with it.

I sincerely hope that someone from Gumtree will act on these comments, I know we are not the only people to suffer such problems contacting anyone.

I don't know why you guys are moaning. Contact them is right there, in the help section. I'm there in 3 clicks.

I think the other million or so people a month who use Gumtree must be experience some good service otherwise they'd have all ditched the site.

yr_ripped_up_sound: What kind of professional business are you, anyway? You said you've left Gumtree yet you come here, sign up for the forums, just to slag them off?

They're better off without you.

I came back on to help a friend upload a free advert - but on the page for upload of images there was no upload button anywhere, some kind of technical error. So I came on to the messageboards to see if anyone else had mentioned a similar complaint, saw this thread and thought I'd give my opinion. Last time I checked, that's pretty much what forums are for. Although if you'd prefer to use them to try and make others feel stupid for expressing a valid opinion, go right ahead, but you'll not bother me.

I'm aware it's not hard to find the link - try getting anyone to contact you back though. I think it's fair to be angry at being given no customer service at all, when one has paid over Ģ300 for the pleasure.

I payed for an advert a week ago, the advert was never listed and when i enter the advert id number it just shows a red screen - the advert contained nothing offensive and has NOT been shown for 1 second. Considering the ad is 100% profit and i would place many more in the future i don't understand their business stratergy. Gumtree come on what is going on! - Where are your customer services phone number and your email help line states i will receive a reply within 2 days !!!!??? Yeah - right!

For those that haven't managed to find the 'Help' section at the bottom of the page (right hand corner) the following links should prove helpful -

These links have always been in the 'Help' section, so you can't really say you're not aware of how to contact Gumtree.

The only thing we ask is that you read the help section properly before contacting us, as your question will more than likely be answered there, and you will have one of those 'ohhhhh, ok I get it now' moments....

If not, please feel free to contact us using the appropriate link/s above.

The problem is that Gumtree hides the contact info..

Its easy for mods/admins to say its here its here..because they know where it is!

most websites/companies have a CONTACT US tab at the bottom of the home page, wouldn`t this be soooooo much easier?

or are the contact details hidden away on purpose??

i would bet money that putting a CONTACT US tab at the bottom of the home page would give Gumtree a true idea of how many people wish to complain but can`t find the contact details..

If you ask me, I think it's actually quite smart where the contact details are located for two reasons.

Firstly, it encourages people to read the posting rules and help section.
Quite often, queries can be solved by looking in here....or let me elaborate...not just looking, but reading and understanding what's in the help section & posting rules, and why these sections exist.

If then you don't have an answer to your query, the links I have provided are shown in the help section so you can email the appropriate people who deal with those types of queries. This ensures that someone can get back to you as quickly as possible.

This helps Gumtree staff, and also helps Gumtree users. A rare win-win!!

Very Happy
