|
|
I am 23, Male (almost 24)
And was unfortunately made redundant from RAC Autowindscreens with the old credit crunch/recession excuse.
I was told a total pack lies by my company and was told I would be safer than the windscreen technicians with my job as Drivers are needed more.
Now, I have been kicked out since February with nothing left but a Seat Leon FR car on Hire purchase. I have no job to pay for it and I will soon inevitably lose the car and everything else I own! Its not losing the nice car which bothers me, its the money I will have to owe to the finance company on auction once my savings are out the door. The jobcentre expect me to rely totally on my savings and I get less a week compared to normal people because of my situation and its not fair.
Ive been fighting since february with all my heart and soul to make a desperate living but the whole world seems to be crashing in around me and I personally feel like giving up.
I have a poor disabled mother and a re-tired father over 60 who rely on me to be the bread winner of the house. they are having constant rows with me about finances/money and are lately calling me lazy and treat me like a little kid!
Please share with me your thoughts and feelings about how you feel about this |

With those two things you are pretty much stuffed in Britain today.
Seriously, the Job Centre shold give you some money, even its the standard £60 per week and then you should get housing benefit as well. You have to have a sizeable chunk (£6k) saved up for them to not pay you anything.
Also if you think you are going to lose the car than stop paying it and let them start proceedings, you are just throwing good money after bad if keep going when you are going to get repossessed.
If they hit you you with a big bill after, get your debt reduced through the court, you may only have to pay a small percentage of the total debt. When you do this make sure you tell the guy doing it everything.
Its the same for a lot of people, I know it doesnt make you feel any better. I, myself am pretty upset with it at the moment.
Good Luck with it all. |

Blimey mate, I'm over 60 and still working. Not ready for grass either. Your dad could go and look for a job if he thinks its that easy.
What you need to do is to get some help and don't leave it, do it before you part with any more money. The citizens advice centre give debt counselling and the sooner you get a strategy in place the better. The the worst thing is to wait until you are out of money and then ignore the letters from people you owe money to because otherwise, you will have a really bad credit history. Best to keep everybody in the picture and get advice. Don't take the advice of those who you owe money to, they will only try to convince you that you should give every cent you own to them.
Mortgages/rent and council tax take priority over everything else regardless.
Good luck |

HI,
My company is currently working on a program about unemployment for the BBC. Details are below, please get in touch if you would like to know more.
BBC ONE is making a ground breaking documentary series about unemployment and wants to hear from people who are currently out of work or who are unhappy at work
Are you unemployed?
Struggling to find work?
Are you frustrated? Feel you have no choices?
Or, are you are happy living the way you are?
Do you want to challenge people’s perceptions of the unemployed?
We are doing some research about unemployment in the current climate and would love to hear from you. Please get in touch for a chat.

What are the chances of finding a job nowadays in the UK / London with the recession? It seems there are still plenty of jobs out there, if one looks at Gumtree etc? For someone willing to try almost anything?
Was in London a few years ago, should have stayed, great place to be, expensive, but if one is not afraid of hard work the money is good.
Any advice welcome. |
